Looks like Chaotic and I have been playing Digi DS a lot. My team would technically be around and above his levels now if I hadn't done tons of degenerating to get better stats.

That sounds good. Since we'll be probably be spamming if we talk on the forum, I suggest we make a post each and then just edit that post whenever we want to say something. Trading is easy, so I'll guide you through it.

Oh, and note that my connection can be bad while using the DS online, so hopefully we won't get into any snags while doing this.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

It's about time we had an update in this thread. First off, Savers has been licensed, but I'm sure you all know that by now.

Also, the Savers movie has been released on DVD. As far as I can see, no sub has been released yet, although you can DL the raw. I never DL the raws, so I will wait for the sub.

The DVD came with textless openings and endings for all four songs (hooray), so here are the DVD rips for them. Enjoy!

The story has no connection to the anime, as far as I know. I could be wrong though. I just hope it's better than Frontier, which was easily the worst Digi movie. Sadly, it's only 24 or so minutes, so we might as well call it a typical episode.

Oh, and good news. Digimon World DS 2 (apparently going to be named to Dusk and Dawn here) will have online battles! At least, the Japanese version does. No word yet for the English version. You cannot have random battles, only through friend codes. It'd a refreshing change of pace to fight using monsters that aren't Pokémon for once, and with more attacks. I heard that the battles will be faster-paced than the first time, which is a good thing. Scanning each enemy Digimon in every battle does get tedious. I'm going to be getting Dawn. I assume that's what the English version of Sunburst is.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

Sorry, but you can't transfer between games. Too bad...I would've liked to see my team in battle, most of which are made up of some badass dragons.

I'm slightly miffed that the requirement to get AeroVeedramon in the sequel is pretty high (get 40,000 beast or dragon exp). This is the second time they did that for my favourite Digimon >_> On the bright side, Veemon is now obtainable in the wild.

Also, the game features the rest of the missing evolutions from Savers. ShineGreymon, MirageGaogamon, Rosemon, Duskmon, etc, are all available, plus lots of new Digimon that wasn't in the first game. There's a list floating around somewhere which I can post here if you want.

Jogressing is a new feature in the sequel too. For the dub fans, it's DNA Digivolution here. You mix two Digimon to get a brand new Digimon.

Oh, and Savers characters return, including a brand new face...

!!!

Additional Spam:
Sorry for the double post, but I have more Digimon World DS 2 news which you may find useful. I found pics of all the available starter packs for both versions. Choose your team wisely....or you can just choose the one with more of your favourite Digimon in it.

DUSK STARTERS

DAWN STARTERS

I'm going with the Growlmon/MegaSeadramon combo ^_^

Also, I'm totally stoked for some new additions to the game which were not in the original, two of which are some of my favourite Digimon:

Hoping to add them to my future team ^_^

I think we should change the thread title to General Digimon or something. Savers isn't the only thing we talk about in here.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Haha yeah, the Dusk Starters aren't very good compared to Dawn, in my opinion, but you don't have to use them. There's tons of other Digimon in this game.

And yes, only a mod can change thread titles.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

What Digimon do you like then? :3

I do agree that the Starters for both games aren't anything to write home about though, although I do like one starter from each Dawn pack while the other one sucks, whereas I don't like any except for BlackWereGarurumon in Dusk. If I was getting that game, I'd be getting that pack too.

Oh, and thanks to Brady, the title of this thread has been changed, yay! I wonder where Azarus went. He usually posts here. I suppose he doesn't know GFF is back up. We need to liven things up! I'll get in touch with him.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

No worries! We can do online matching as well, just like in the first game. Unfortunately, there's still no online trading option. You have to connect with someone locally.

I'm getting Dawn and Rocky's getting Dusk, so there shouldn't be a problem getting the exclusives.

There are exclusives, but I don't know the full list. I don't think all the starters are exclusive.

Guess I'm the only one keeping this thread alive!

Screenshots for the Digital Squad in English has been released!

HELLO Marcus!

Don't ask me why there's a gazillion Sharp Claws and Pepper Breaths.

I'm still not sure if I'll get the game. I won't be too thrilled with the name changes and dubbed voices as I'm already too used to the JPN names/voices already. Also, I've watched some battle gameplay vids in the past and they weren't very exciting. There's a pause after every single command, which can get annoying after a awhile. I also spend way more time with my handhelds than with my consoles too. I find more fun games on the handhelds nowadays.

Of course, I'm definitely getting the DS sequel. The online mode will be uber sweet. Battle with Digimon = awesome. I'm SOOO gonna get a Megidramon.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Well, ShineGreymon Burst Mode is in it, so I assume it takes place after the series in some unforeseen future.

I just saw the movie! It's not bad, but it's damn short and it's a one man Masaru show again. There's some cruddy animation here and there too.. However, the Rookie fights are pretty kick-ass compared to the series and Lalamon is actually useful.

Screengrabs! Taking pics with MKV videos is hard! Can't wait til an AVI version comes out so I can take more grabs.

I wasn't paying too much attention when I watched (I was distracted), so I am going to watch it again sometime.

The look on Pipismon's face is funny

Update: I just found out that the ending has a blooper reel! I didn't even watch the credits! I will check it out tonight!

Additional Spam:
Damn, the Digi news just keeps on coming!

The Digimon Savers Best Hits has been released! Get it here!

It contains image songs and the OP/EDs. Here's the tracklist:

01. Gou'ing! Going! My Soul!
Vocal: Dynamite SHU
02. Beater!
Vocal: Daimon Masaru (Hoshi Souichirou)
03. Aah, Tamagoyaki (Oh Fried Eggs)
Vocal: Agumon (Matsuno Taiki)
04. One Star
Vocal: Itou Yousuke
05. Friendship!!
Vocal: Ikuto & Falcomon (Kugimiya Rie & Kojiro Chie)
06. Believer
Vocal: IKUO
07. Cool Running
Vocal: Tohma H. Norstein (Nojima Hirofumi)
08. Itsumademo Issho ni (Always With You)
Vocal: Gaomon (Nakai Kazuya)
09. Hirari
Vocal: Wada Kouji
10. Otokodama (A Man's Spirit)
Vocal: BantyoLeomon (Takemoto Eiji)
11. TEAM?
Vocal: Daimon Masaru (Hoshi Souichirou), Agumon (Matsuno Taiki), Tohma H. Norstein (Nojima Hirofumi) & Gaomon (Nakai Kazuya)
12. Ryuusei
Vocal: MiyuMiyu

Just like pretty much every other Digimon CD, this one is pretty good! There isn't a single song I don't like in it. Agumon's solo isn't as horrible sounding as Tai's Agumon, thank gawd, and it's cute! TEAM is quite upbeat! Enjoy!

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

Not that anyone cares, but DATS has released their Savers movie sub in AVI format. Get it here. Getting awesome speeds (over 260kB/s) so grab it while it's hot. Now I can make decent screengrabs.

Update: I finished DLing. Whee!

Digimon World Dusk/Dawn are set to come out Sept 18th, which is days way! Great stuff, wot?

Still getting Dawn, and I'm looking forward to battling the few of you who will be getting it! You better get it, Chaotic :D I know for a fact that Rocky and I will be getting it.

I saw some vids online and at the end of the game, the team from Digimon Savers (Including Ikuto this time. Whoo!) and Digimon NEXT appear to battle you! Awesome! I don't know if it's part of the game or optional. I was very surprised to see guys from Digimon NEXT in it.

Oh, and I found Digimon Savers wallpaper at the official American website at Toei Animation! Here it is. I've never been able to find any decent Digimon wallpaper before, so I'm quite happy to have found something good :3

I've been putting Savers eps on my PSP to watch during bus rides :D

Update: I checked out that website some more and apparently they're using Masaru and Yoshino in their character profiles.

Ah I getcha. If you're going back to school, then I understand. Rocky just spent tons on books alone. Ouch.

In the meantime, take a gander at the exclusive Digimon in each version for you to decide what you want:

Dawn:

Sunmon
Coronamon
Firamon
Flaremon
Apollomon
Kudamon
Leppamon
Qilinmon
Sleipmon
Gigimon
Guilmon
Growmon
Megidramon
Dukemon
Dukemon Crimson Mode
Chicomon
Imperialdramon Dragon Mode
Imperialdramon Fighter Mode
Imperialdramon Paladin Mode
Airdramon
Goddramon
ShineGreymon Burst Mode
DotAgumon
Dot ShineGreymon

Dusk:

Moonmon
Lunamon
Lekismon
Crescemon
Dianamon
Pandamon
BantyoLeomon
Beelzebumon Blast Mode
Tsumemon
Keramon
Chrysalimon
Argomon Perfect and Ultimate
Diablomon
ChaosDukemon
Armagemon
Piemon
Apocalymon
Kuramon
Khimeramon
Milleniumon
Moon Milleniumon
Zeed Milleniumon SkullGreymon
Tsuchidarumon
DotFalcomon
DotMirageGaogamon

I'm getting Dawn for the Guilmon line (especially Megidramon), Kudamon's line and Imperialdramon Dragon Mode (I've never seen this Digimon playable before!) I will need to match with the other version to get BanchouLeomon. I'm not much of a villain fan, so I don't want much exclusives in Dusk.

I was speaking idiomatically.

This game and Sims 2: Bon Voyage are the only two games (although one's just an expansion) I want in September, so I'm sure I'll be able to get it on launch. Can't wait.

Only YTV airs Digimon here, but I don't know if they'll air the dub. I don't think they are still airing the older seasons. I like how they managed to switch from Digital Accident Tactics Squad to DATa Squad to keep it as DATS. I guess they wanted to shorten it to make it easier for the kids to remember.

Ikuto's last name is apparently Crier (Ikuto Crier, XD), and I'm going to be thinking of a certain green dinosaur everytime they say Yoshino's new dub name :D The VA for Genis (Colleen O'Shaughnessey) from Tales of Symphonia is voicing her, so I'm not looking forward to that, I can tell you! Takato's VA is voicing Agumon, so who knows what he's going to sound like! It'd be so cool if he'd still use 'Aniki 'for the dub, but I very much doubt that. It'd probably change to 'Boss' or even 'Marcus.' That doesn't sound as cute.

Update: Apparently Wiki has been updated to include Ikuto's dub name. Keenan Crier! That's really different from the original name. I wonder how the last name's going to be pronounced. Is it going to be 'Cry-er' or 'Creer'?

How ya doing, buddy?

Just got Dawn today finally. Went in on the 19th and saw nothing. Went on the 20th and still nothing. Asked person at counter and was told it was coming in the next day. BAH! On top of that, stickers were supposed to be included in the game and I got nada. What a gyp! Somebody hates Canada :P

I never thought anyone but me, Rocky and Chaotic would be buying the game, so seeing your entry surprised me, Lacerta. That makes another person to battle with.

I got Coronamon, Kudamon and Biyomon in my party. Planning on ditching Biyomon.

My FC code is 1976 7985 0490.

At least the random-battle rate makes it faster to scan Digimon. The GFF Wiki page is up as well so add your FCs there!

I love how HP/MPs are completely restored if you stay in a dungeon for a while, so I get to spend more time in dungeons without having to go all the way back to town every time your team's running low on health.

I did pretty much nothing but grind at Limit Valley to get everyone to their champion forms, booya. Maybe I'll try getting to Bronze rank now.

My team:

Warsaw [Reppamon]
Lvl 23. HP 1028 MP 970

Aero [Veedramon]
Lvl 27. HP 603 MP 475

Raptor-1 [GeoGreymon]
Lvl 28. HP 623 MP 552

Reserve:

Corona [Firamon]
Lvl 34. HP 804 MP 664

Warfang [Garurumon]
Lvl 1. HP 428 MP 341

Gonna get a Kumamon now for GrappLeomon. Then I'll get a Pandamon from Rocky and voila! One BanchouLeomon. I never got one in the first game cause the XP needed for him was atrocious. Apparently it's the same in this game so hopefully I won't give up again this time :P

Update: I'm a Bronze tamer! Whoo!!!

I got 2 farms now: Savers and Tamers (homage obviously :P). I stuck my Kumamon in there. I randomly matched with someone to get Tsunomon. Gonna change Reppamon's name now that I have Warfang.

Oh wait...I now realize a Digimon gets full HP/MP back after levelling.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

The Sunken Tunnel is the best place (so far) for getting Machine XP. There's an area somewhere to the right side of the dungeon that has nothing but Machine Digimon (except for the not-occasional Betamon). That's how I got the XP needed for RiseGreymon.

My team's the same as before, give or take, except I'll be hatching a Guilmon soon. I just got RiseGreymon, and I'm very close now to get Flaremon and AeroVeedramon. I can't wait. He's one of my absolute favourite Digimon and I want him baaad. I'm grinding now for Holy XP to get ShineGreymon and Tylinmon.

Chaotic and I did a mock battle last night just to see how it went, and it was pretty cool, although it took a bit for the stupid connection to find us. We had a 2 out of 3 battle. I wiped out his Growlmon/Gaogamon/Firamon pretty quickly, but he came back with a vengeance in the next two matches and took the crown. Ah well. Maybe next time he won't be so lucky with my Ultimates.

We also did some matching 'cause there were some Digis I wanted. That went more smoothly.

Update: I got AeroVeedramon! Sweet! I changed his name to WindRaker. After Corona evolves, I'll have three Ultimates, just enough for a battle if anyone's interested :D

I just made it to Silver rank! The battle was quite tough. 2 of my Digimon bit it so luckily I had some in relief. Don't underestimate these guys 'cause they'll rape you. They're harder than the actual game.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Haha after what I went through to get Silver, I am not keen at trying for Gold yet :D

I did it. My entire team is now at Ultimate level, including my Flaremon, though he's just a placeholder until I get Bancho. I changed some names around too.

Current team:

Windraker (AeroVeedramon)
Lvl 38. HP 1131 MP 907

Raptor-1 (RiseGreymon)
Lvl 39. HP 1144 MP 986

Stormblade (Tylinmon)
Lvl 24. HP 1518 MP 1385

Relief:

Warfang (WereGarurumon)
Lvl 10. HP 1454 MP 1129

Grim (WarGrowlmon)
Lvl 22. HP 1077 MP 914

Corona (Flaremon)
Lvl 38. HP 1300 MP 1072

Update: Okay so I tried going for Gold anyway and damn, did I get seriously raped. Seeing BanchouLeomon makes me determined to get one, and I found an easier way to get him too. Well, Chaotic did anyway. Just match two level 60+ Beast Digimon. Hatching requirement is 6000+ Beast XP, which is much more preferable than getting 50000+ Beast XP from jogressing Pandamon and GrappLeomon. WereGarurumon will be my ticket.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

I stopped watching the dub 'cause I don't see the point and can just watch the sub instead.

That said, is anyone still playing Dusk/Dawn? I've been spending lots of time training my team lately, even neglecting Contra 4 to do so. I've no idea how to make my BanchouLeomon stronger so he's no longer gonna be in my team. He'll be replaced with MetalSeadramon. My pride and joy is Sleipmon. If anyone wants to battle me, let me know.

...Of course, my stats may also potentially scare off would-be battlers too, but that is what Handicap mode's for.

Anyway, here's my team below. Their attacks are a secret ;3

AeroVeedramon - Windraker
Level 90
8192 HP / 6086 MP

ATK 999
DEF 860
SPT 826
SPD 959

Megidramon - Grim
Level 90
8786 HP / 6651 MP

ATK 999
DEF 999
SPT 968
SPD 999

RiseGreymon - Arsenal
Level 61
8404 HP / 6742 MP

ATK 909
DEF 908
SPT 932
SPD 999

Sleipmon - Stormblade
Level 90
9169 HP / 7540 MP

ATK 999
DEF 999
SPT 999
SPD 999

WereGarurumon- Warfang
Level 61
7558 HP / 5542 MP

ATK 957
DEF 787
SPT 755
SPD 999

MetalSeadramon - Seawolf
Level 20
3709 HP / 2177 MP

ATK 470
DEF 448
SPT 409
SPD 428

Gaogamon - Gatling
Level 19
4800 HP / 3518 MP

ATK 532
DEF 468
SPT 439
SPD 501

No matter what, my WereGarurumon isn't getting much stat increases compared to the others. Hopefully it will pick up soon.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Well, it happened. Digimon Savers has began airing November 30th in Germany. As with other German dubs, the OP is the Japanese OP in German. The names are from the dub, although they say Marcus Daimon instead of Damon.

I watched some clips on Youtube (Click here too) and here's my impressions:

Agumon sounds all right.

Kudamon sounds like a girl and probably is one. Renamon was a guy in German, so there you go.

Yoshino and Lalamon sound fine.

Satsuma is okay.

Masaru just plain sucks. It's like he's permanently in neutral mode. Quinton Flynn doesn't sound angry enough. This guy isn't angry at all, period, which is totally against his character. It's like he's totally incapable of showing this emotion. It can't be that hard to portray an angry guy. Soichiro Hoshi nailed it perfectly.

Ep 3 isn't up on the site yet so I can't comment on Touma.

Here's the opening.

Oh, and a new Digimon DS game is coming soon. It looks like a Digimon version of Pokémon Ranger. You capture and train Digimon to do battle.

Most amazing jew boots
