Hey! I demand credit for mentioning the Raiders first :D
I saw one of those Elemental Balls during my trip there, and that freaked the heck outta me too. I turned off all Cure gambits and beat the hell outta there :D Balthier = Han Fran = Chewbacca Vaan = Luke Basche = .... Obi-Wan? XD Ashe = Leia Penelo = No clue :D This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Tomorrow I'll make sure to pass the temple. Based on what I've played so far, the gameplay and story both get a 9 from me. I refuse to give 10's cause that'd make it perfect, and nothing is ever perfect. It has the best dialogue of any FF game, and the whole war thing is cool. Of course, everyone says the story takes a total nosedive later, but until then, I'll have lots of fun with it. Love the battle system! The camera isn't that great though. I love the poles for weapons. I always thought they were cool weapons, and heroes are always wielding stupid swords, so I gave a pole to Vaan and now he's kicking arse. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

I have made it past the tomb and am on my way to Bur-Omisace now. Whooo! It feels weird to be attacking Chocobos though.
Vaan and Balthier are now at level 21, with the rest at level 20. Defeated the damn Nidhogg with Belias :D I didn't really like Larser's acting before, but it looks like he improved since then. Those judges have an interesting side to them. I spent lots of LP on stuff like HP+ and Potion Lore+ and such. I'm nowhere near a Swiftness panel though. Darnit. Those Wooly Gators are frickin' WEIRD. Met more powerful werewolves. Luckily I was on a chocobo! Balthier: "I'm only here to see the story unfold. That's what the leading men do." I found that line funny as hell, but it could be just me. I was speaking idiomatically.

Yes, go ahead and attack one. In two seconds, you're dead!
NO, do NOT attack them whatsoever, or go anywhere near them! Remember Jinn's warning! Just save before attacking if you're feeling sucidal. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

The Queen looked like an alien to me :D
You'd think those Tusken Raiders, er, little sand people, would be thankful that I killed their enemy. Oh well. Can't say that moogle was crying though. Sad , yes. Crying, no. P.S. I saw Belias' -limit break-. It was wicked cool. The manual says they use it after 'certain conditions are met.' What exactly are these conditions? FELIPE NO |
Damn!!!
I went further ahead to the Hennes Mines today and ugh!!!! There are some hard sections in there, mainly the swarms of bats and jellies that cluster in several locations. I actually had to make a run for it at the second jelly swarm. And then I had to fight the boss, Spoiler:
Those T-Rexes remind me of the T-Rexaurs in FFVIII so much. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
I'm clocking in at 25 hours in the Hennes Mines. I did spend some time levelling and chaining earlier so my time is inflated.
My team are all in the 23/22 range right now. My balancing act is paying off. This is the first time I've seen an FF Spoiler:
Why are all the guest characters so bloody strong and damn useful? Ashe revives anyone who dies, Vossler's just very strong and Larsa's got hi-potions up the wazoo. Doesn't it make these parts of the game kinda easier? I say 'easier' because there are parts that still give me trouble even with guests in the party. Most amazing jew boots |
SPOILERS. Am at Golmore Jungle or whatever the hell it's called.
Spoiler:
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
He doesn't drop it. The person who posted the Mark gives it to you :3
I didn't have time to play today, but I did play a lot of Digimon World DS. Ah, the advantages of a handheld system. I love that game too. I'm currently juggling between the two games. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Sup Spatula The guide also says to use Quickenings in the Spoiler:
Thank god I can skip that battle and continue onwards. Its status effects are a killer! Most amazing jew boots

Hell, that boss casts Blind, Petrify, Oil, Confuse and the like. It's certainly not just Oil. Best to make sure you have at least one person immune to Confuse or something so he/she can heal everyone. Otherwise, you're pretty much screwed.
Mist Quickenings are best used when you've already chipped the boss low enough. Using it at the beginning of the battle won't help you at all. I was speaking idiomatically. |
I guess I must be the only person who doesn't think his voice is HORRIBLE. Voice wise and personality wise, he's a lot better than Tidus. I don't mind him at all, and I think the only girly type guy in FF is Irvine, but that's just me. I honestly can't see the whole feminine thing in other FF males. Maybe I'm just abnormal :D
P.S. Squall's my favourite >_> What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
Yes he is, but he still looks girly :D
All the other male characters in FF sure look like guys to me, but I seem to be in the minority. FELIPE NO |
But being in the minority also makes me unique and special! :D
I've seen anime guys who looked more like girls, but I don't see that much with video game characters. Maybe it's just me : / What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
I'm sure most people bought the LE guide solely for the better cover and most especially, the artbook. Am I right? :D
I generally find that boss strategies in guides are generally crap, as tips from other gamers usually give much easier ways of defeating them. That's from my own personal experiences. Although you can find better FAQs online, I still like guides for their beastiaries (I love seeing pics of monsters for unknown reasons) and the artwork. I'll be playing a little later, yay :3 I'm watching a movie right now. Oh, and you're welcome, Spatty :D How ya doing, buddy? |
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Bah! The Elder Wyrm gives me the willies, and the area south (The Feywood) contains enemies that are too tough for me, so.....I hunted down some Marks and did a grand job of it. Killed the Cluckatrice and Rocktoise. Wanted to defeat the Wyrm Lord too, but it's too far away from a save point and I wanted to do other stuff, so I'll save it for tomorrow.
I grabbed two Swiftness licences for all save 1 person in the team, plus the hp +150. Whooo! I need some money fast. What's the best place to do chainings right now? I suppose it's in the Sandsea? This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
500 each?? I'm so there! The Wyrm Lord is also in the Sandsea, so that will be my next destination. Thanks :3
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
Whatever that Mark is, that's the one I'm talking about. Has like over 16000 HP I think. The Rocktoise had slightly less than that, so I don't think I'll have much trouble.
350 is still good for me. I need lots of gil quick. I only have like, 2000 to my name. I was speaking idiomatically. |
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
I have the guide, yes, but I don't read the sidequests. I only read the maps and the hunts. I save sidequests for when I'm actually doing sidequests, ya know, but I'll take everyone's advice and check it all out.
Spat, you got a typo in your spoiler :D FELIPE NO |
It's easier to check the maps in the guide as opposed to pressing select all the time, although some maps are so small and filled up with pics of treasure chests (Nam-Yensa, I'm looking at you) that it's better to check the map in the game.
I don't actually the text in the guide while playing. I've noticed the guide spoils a ton of stuff after reading some snippits. Maps always come in handy though. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
I went ahead and hunted down 1 rank 1 mark and 2 rank II marks, the Wyrm Lord, the Croakodile (I love this pun!) and the giant Slaven at the Shred that I will never be able to spell without looking at a guide. I dunno, but all those marks were damn easy. Are they just naturally easy or am I just overlevelled? Everyone's at level 24 now, except for Penelo of course. Magick works wonders against the marks (aero for that Slaven, fire for the Croakodile and Blizzard for the Wyrm Lord). I did a 113 chain on my way to the Wyrm Lord, (and uncovered 100% of that Nam-Sandsea while I was at it) and got so much crap that I sold all my hard earned money on awesome weapons at Jahara. I was broke before so I never bought anything then :( Vaan got his third quickening too, and everyone now as more Swiftness and HP+. Whooo!! I even saw a HP 500+ that I need to save up LP for, and I got the Golden Armlet just now. Yay! P.S. Tiamat is a she. Jam it back in, in the dark.

Awww, I was several postings too late :(
This is my fave game on the PS2 thus far. Not my fault I could count my entire PS2 collection with two hands :( There's nowhere I can't reach. |
@sandmonkeys, do you ever use capital letters??
My entire team is doing over 300 damage now with their new gear. Cool beans, wot! Is there any item/armour that protects you against Confuse, and can I get it before going to the mountain? This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
