VGL coming to Germany? Oh hell yes! *jumping around*

I prefer a location in the south. Maybe Munich or Stuttgart? The area around of Cologne is overloaded with events of all kind. (:P @ Teioh)

Aaaand I have one music wish: something from Secret of Mana. Secret of Mana was one of the first big SNES RPGs coming out here and many Gamers in Germany (or maybe whole western Europe) have some special moments with it.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

All 'gamers' (...) around Hamburg or Bremen will be angry at you now, Hamu-Sumo
[...]
Oooooh! Poor people! As a replacement for it they have other interesting events in the near.

More than great news! Thank you, Tommy!

Sad that Square Enix shows a defiant behaviour. What would I do for "Into the Thick of it", "What the Forest Taught Me" or "A Wish..." orchestrated...
Nevertheless there are (luckily) some other very good pieces of music:

- Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun - Lone Trooper (ok, nothing for orchestra but with choir on stage very nice)
- Golden Sun - The Elemental Stars (name based on "The Golden Sun Anthology" rip; that's a track perfectly made for orchestra. Probably very amazing be far from the GBA soundchip )
- Genso Suikoden II - Heart-Softening Theme
- Metroid Prime - Phendrana Drifts
- Tales of Symphonia - Far from our world
- TimeSplitters 2 - Siberia (my insider tip!)

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Argh, can't wait to the Germany date(s)!

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Thumbs up

You know, Martin Leung: the guy who did that Castlevania medley on the pipe organ in New Haven earlier this year. Can we get that on the CD if we ask nicely enough?
[...]
Not bad.
At this year's Games Convention Opening Concert Michiru Yamane was an unannounced guest. A few knew that before but what they didn't know was that she will playing an track, which weren't listed in the program: "A Toccata into Blood Soaked Darkness" on the organ of the Gewandhaus (Click here for a photo of it).
Bad luck for me that I wasn't there.

Video Games Live @ Games Convention

Hey Tommy, read yesterday the announcement for VGL as opening concert for 2008's Games Convention in Leipzig. 7000 seats, could be a great thing!

My question is if it's planned to do an usual show or something special. I would miss some surprises made by the composers themselves like Michiru Yamane's organ pipe solo this year. Can you a little bit talk about it?

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

And it also looks like our good friend Chris Huelsbeck is also doing a symphonic show in Cologne a few days after ours! I'm totally going to stick around for that!! Can't wait to check it out. Looks like it's going to be a GREAT week for game music in Germany!!
Yeah, I plan to be there. Tickets are available yet! Your last sentence you can say again. For years here's nothing and then two events in one week! Wow!

We're also currently planning 4 other major cities in Germany.
Good to know! :3

We haven't thought about our the setlist for our Leipzig show just yet because throughout the year we'll be adding to our setlist and don't want to sell ourselves short by deciding on the exact show right now. However!! I can tell you that this will be a VERY special show for us considering the convention and the venue/promotor and we'll be "pulling out all the stops" (as they say) to ensure that the material and special guests involved will be unique and special. Just like we did with Miyamoto & Koji Kondo in San Fran earlier this year or with Akira (Silent Hill), Yuichi Asami (DDR) and IGA (Castlevania) at the EForAll game convention in LA.
*thumbs up*

Check out some of the special guests we had at some of our game convention shows this year:

San Fran (GDC 2007): Video Games Live | www.videogameslive.com

LA (EForAll 2007): Video Games Live | www.videogameslive.com

London (London Games Festival 2007): Video Games Live | www.videogameslive.com
Amazing listings. Never read them before. And man, on every show were Tommy Tallarico and Jack Wall. Incredible!

Quote:
Also important to note... as big and prestigious as all of our meet & greets have always been... we have never once (and never will) charge extra or a premium for people to take part in meeting our special guests. If you attend the show... you can certainly attend the meet & greet afterwards.
A meet & greet with that amount of special guests is really unique. It seems I should purchase a special book for all the autographs.

Prime Blue, I'm absolutely sure that Thomas Böcker is one of the heads behind Symphonic Shades - Hülsbeck in Concert. This project is his alternative to the GC concerts I guess.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?
