1993 Honda Civic Hatchback here. Reliable yes, but no longer a gas saver since its not yet fuel injected. Anyways, with old cars, we get the chance to have everything replaced due to *gasp* wear and tear. I have a schedule for my car's Timing Belt. I need to have it replaced every 70,000 - 80,000 KMS, but can be extended till 110,000 KMS but its a death wish if you do try to reach it that far. Our other car, a 1998 Mitsubishi Galant, had its Timing Belt die on me while running, good thing I was not at all, fast, if not, a change engine will be needed since the death of the timing belt while running = extreme damage.
Now my Civic is facing another problem, its cooling system (again). I'm losing water in the radiator and I dont think it has a leak. I already had it cleaned for around $9 (400 with my local currency), and manually drained it last week. I found out that my radiator cap is busted, so I bought a new one for $3. But I'm still losing water and my temperature will rise above normal if I drive for a long time and in an extermely sunny day. Now there are only two problems left. Either the radiator really has a leak somewhere, or my cylinder head gasket is busted again. Bleh.
Honda parts are expensive here. But my car's resale value = great than any other. Honda Cars = great resale value
A change engine is needed for mine, sadly, budget is no where to be found.
How ya doing, buddy?
