I use 2 burners for a specific reason
My NEC drive (ND-4570A) is great for CDs and DVD burning, but my Pioneer (DVR-111D) does produces lower error levels with DVD media than my NEC but the Pioneer drive sucks with CD media. Plus the Pioneer drive has much better DVD error correction than my NEC dive. In all I have had no problems running them both. Jam it back in, in the dark.
