I'm surprised nobody has made a thread for this yet, but at the same time, I'm not surprised at all. For some reason, there doesn’t seem to be much hype/media attention surrounding this game, probably because on paper it sounds like a lame Tomb Raider ripoff. Still, I find all of this kind of surprising considering Naughty Dog has pretty much put out nothing but gold :/. Hell, I wasn't even too interested until I started seeing screens and videos on IGN.

This game just reeks of awesomeness::

You'll also be able to unlock different rendering modes, like a black and white mode, a sepia-toned mode, a next-gen filter (with appropriate super bloom and saturated colors) and even a mode that doesn't utilize textures, allowing you to see how the geometry was put together more easily.
This game looks like Tomb Raider (plot), Prince of Persia (environment/puzzles) and Gears of War (gameplay) all got together and had sex - producing this game.

Anyways, looks like it's going to be a good one. What do you guys think.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Holy wow I want this game. And I am officially going through this game on Hard my first run through. Those gun fights on hard are just...hard. And fun. And this is officially the prettiest game on the PS3.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Hey now - I think most would agree that it sums up the demo quite nicely.

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

GGAARRFGGJG I WANT THIS GAME.

I saw this game yesterday at Target, and there was only a single copy left. I was kind of surprised, as I didn't think a PS3 game would ever sell out.

Anyways, I decided to wait until Christmas before picking it up, otherwise I will be consumed by video games. And finals are coming up ever so quickly.

You guys need to stop telling me how bad ass it is. I ARE JEALOUS.

How ya doing, buddy?

I hate to bump an almost month old thread, but hey. I started this shit, and I am finally getting around to playing it.

I'm currently at the part where you escape from the jail cell in the Jeep, and Holy. Crap.

This game has surpassed every expectation I have had of it. Even though the game sports probably the best graphics I have ever seen (on a console anyways), I have realized it's not even about how 'pretty' it is anymore. It's all about the animations.

Seriously. The way Drake interacts with what's going on around him makes him so much more...real. If you're running away from a firefight, he'll flinch a little every time a shot whizzes right by his ear. If you're running through the lush jungle, he'll stumble a little and almost trip on the foilage/terrain. For Christ sakes, he even RUNS DOWN THE STAIRS in a believable way.

The firefights themselves are pretty fun, too. Kind of frustrating at times, but I'm currently playing through on Hard, so I die a lot . I love the cover system, even if it is a Gears of War clone. It works remarkably well, except for the goddamn grenades.

And the environments. Wow the environments. When I got on top of that German U-Boat towards the beginning, I swear I just sat their and stared at the sunset above that waterfall for 10 minutes.

God, what a solid game. I can't believe that I thought Naughty Dog might put something out shorter than fantastic.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

...Therefore giving the likely Uncharted 2 the attention that I'm sure it too will deserve.
Funny you mention that, because Naughty Dog just confirmed that there will be a sequel.
Quote:
TF1: At the end of the creation of a game, are there any "feeling-blue" moods?

CB: No, because I came to talk about Uncharted in France. I think that the game has a profound side at the history level which might appeal [to European gamers]. And after all, we're soon going to start working at the sequel. For that we need to sit back for a while and look at the game from a different perspective, in order to see in which direction we're going to push it. But the world is there, it's rich... So there's plenty of space for a new passionate title. Even better [than the first one].
fucking right
