God...dammit. A bunch of people are getting there confirmation for the Warhawk beta. Everyone except me .

Apparently you can log in with your PS3, and then go to Account Management --> Transaction Mangement --> Services, and it will list the Warhawk beta with a date right next to it showing when it starts. Good luck to anyone who signed up in time. If you got in I officially hate you.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Here's another way to check to see if you got in - https://www.betatest.us.playstation.com/

Ugh. I guess if you haven't gotten in by now then you're not going to get in. I hate my life.

Yeah. I don't even know what GAP is, but apparently I'm in it, and apparently there really will be more chances to get into this fucking beta.

Wow. I was literally just going to ask about this. That is fucking creepy.

So with these DLNA servers, should I theoretically be able to stream ALL of my music, videos and pictures to my PS3 downstairs? Do I just set up the DLNA software on my PC, and then search for it on my PS3? I really need to get this thing working.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

I've been playing a lot of Calling All Cars recently (Awesome game. Get it). Whenever I log on to do some online multiplayer, it only shows about 9 or so people playing. Does it only show people that are around my area with the best possible connections, or is there really only 9 people playing this fucking game across all of America.

Oh god I am confused. I don’t mean to take this thread off track or anything, but I was just wondering if somebody could help me out.

So I understand that Windows Media Player 11 can work as a DLNA server. I set everything up on my computer (which is wired to the router), but couldn’t detect my PS3 (which is wireless to the router) from my computer. I went down to my PS3, and was surprised that it had found the server that my computer was running, but it still would not allow me to access any of my music files.

So, I took out my laptop, which also has a wireless connection, and set the exact same thing up on there, and it worked flawlessly. Basically, my wireless laptop can stream media to my wireless PS3, but my wired PC cannot stream media to my wireless PS3. Everything is going through the same router.

Is there a common problem when going from wired to wireless, or something? Is there a simple setting that I don’t know of that probably needs to be checked? Any help would be awesome.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

On my PC, when I go into the sharing settings in Windows Media Player, I can't even find the PS3 to enable it. However, on my laptop I can find the PS3 just fine.

I'm just confused because when I search for Media Servers on the PS3, it finds the server on my PC, but won't let me access anything from it (I assume it's because I never enabled sharing to the PS3 from my PC, but I can't enable sharing as my PC can't detect my PS3 ). CONFUSING.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Well, I'm making progress. I went into the settings and checked that "Allow new devices and components automatically" setting, and my PS3 can now access my PC, but for some reason it still won't display any of the songs that are in my library. It just says "no tracks", but at least it now doesn't give me the permission denied error. It's a step forward, nonetheless. When I went back upstairs to check my computer, I could now detect the PS3 from my PC as well. Weird.

I think I might just try and work with this TVersity, since it sounds way more versatile with the files that can be streamed to your PS3. I'm going to try and set that up later. Hopefully it'll go better than WMP11...

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Ok. I finally got everything working. All of my music is on a different partition, so I initially just dragged and dropped the entire folder into the WMP11 library, assuming that would then relay everything to my PS3, but apparently you have to actually go into the library settings and manually set which specific folders you want WMP11 to monitor. After I set it to monitor the designated partition with all of my music, everything worked like a charm. Pictures work, too. Too bad Winamp doesn't have a feature like this, as that's what I use to manage all of my music. Thanks for all of your help.

Now on to the videos...

Just made a Japanese account and tried out that FolkSoul game. It's like Alice In Wonderland meets The Wizard of Oz. The fighting is pretty fun and kind of unique. I like it. I didn't know what the fuck was going on, though.

After playing this game, one thing that I noticed that bugs me about some games is the character animations when they are running. When you're moving in one direction and then take a 90 degree turn at full speed, I want them to react to that sudden change in motion. I don't know. It's just a little something that I think could make a game look more 'next-gen'.

Yeah. I couldn't stand it anymore, so I went and did the proxy hack so I could download the Warhawk beta. Everybody with a PS3 needs to get this game. The flight controls are fucking messed up, but once you get used to them this game is nothing but fun.

Glad to hear you finally got it working. That's awesome. I can't believe I didn't find out about this proxy hack until yesterday. We only have a little over a week until the beta servers shut down .

It also looks like they finally released a patch for the game, which I believe fixes a lot of those freezing issues people were having before. It hasn't happened to me yet *knocks on wood*.

EDIT:
I just downloaded a game off of the Japanese store. It looks like two cartoon cats with a video camera and a microphone...? Anyways, I go to play it, and all I get is a clock and a loading screen / download screen, and CHRIST it takes forever. I always shut the game down before it an finish because the wait is so unbearable. I guess I don't really know what it is doing. Does anybody have any idea what the hell this is?

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Ha. Yeah, I just got accepted into the Warhawk beta last night as well. I deleted the proxy version and downloaded the official version, just in case :/...

Also, the beta has been extended from June 26th to July 3rd, so theres an additional week for everybody to mess around with the game.

Yeah, I was getting a little agitated when there was nothing but super crappy movie trailers coming out every Thursday on the PSN Store for the past month, but was a little relieved to FINALLY see another demo. Too bad it sucked.

IN OTHA NEWS:
Quote:
Lair Release Date Announced - August 14th

You see that date up there my friends? That’s the date that PS3 owners will be looking forward to because not only does it mean the long awaited, highly anticipated Lair comes out, but it also is the date where the PS3 software “drought” officially ends and the good games begin to roll out.

Not only has the release date been revealed today, but also it’s been revealed that we can all expect a Lair demo to hit the Playstation Network sometime in July. Here’s hoping it’d happen near the 4th of July. What better way to ring in America’s independence by burning up some soldiers and and then eating them while they still cry in agonizing pain.

Also, if you missed the Lair videos we posted yesterday, make sure to catch them here to get a better understanding on what Lair is about, as well to see some sweet in-game footage.
ah snap demo in july .

gee whiz thanks for that input i havent heard that response like 30,000 times before lolz.

J/K MAN. J/K.

That folder support option kicks all sorts of ass. I've been itching for a way to accomplish this. I really want to know if you will be able to also do this with your buddy list as well (like setting up groups, or something).

Quick question for the game installation method. What's to stop me from renting this game and installing it? I assume you need to have a copy of the disc in to load up the game?

Heavenly Sword Demo Very Soon
Quote:
While answering many different questions from Heavenly Sword fans, Hart tackled a query concerning a downloadable demo. "I can confirm that we are, of course, going to be releasing a demo for Heavenly Sword... and soon," he said. "This will be downloadable via the Playstation Network... so keep an eye out for this in the very near future. And I mean very near future!"
Fuck yes. E3 couldn't come any sooner. I really want to get my hands on some of these AAA titles that I've been reading/hearing so much about.

I assume that this will come out during E3, along with the Lair demo that was announced to "arrive in July." It would make most sense, wouldn't it?

I was always under the impression that they were going to exhaust their 60gb stock, and then simply drop the 80gb model down to the $499 price tag.

Wouldn't that make most sense?

Yeah, I REALLY want to try out Heavenly Sword. I was actually expecting the demo to be released last week during E3 along with Lair, but oh well.

I want to get my hands on the Lair demo as well, because I'm not really sure what to expect of this game. I have heard so many different things about it, both good and bad :/.

When's the first big RPG going to be released?
Well, Disgaea 3 was just announced. I don't know if that's considered the first 'big' RPG though. I personally love most of the Nippon Ichi games, but I wouldn't consider them a Final Fantasy in terms of 'big'.

Also holy hell. LOCO ROCO FOR PS3. WITH TILT CONTROLS. Why are the PSN games pretty much the coolest thing on PS3 right now.

Something else I just read, Katamari Damacy Creator Delivers New PS3 Game. While it sucks that Katamari is remaining a 360 exclusive, at the same time I would almost want a brand new innovative game over something I have played 3 different times already :\. BUT HAY. THAT'S JUST ME.

Jesus that's a lot of PS3 news for me in one day.

Anybody remember White Knight Story? This game completely fell off my radar. Apparently they have a demonstration of the game up, and they're going to have a playable demo for TGS. Via IGN, this little snippet sounded pretty cool -
Quote:
According to Famitsu.com's account of the demonstration, Hino began by first showing off the game's character creation system. Players will be able to create their own likeness for inclusion in the game, making use of a detailed character creation tool. This tool is so robust that Level 5 itself used it to create the main characters and 1000 or so NPC characters that appear in the game.
1,000 different NPC characters? Color me impressed. Here's hoping for a demo in the near future...

How ya doing, buddy?
