Quick question - do demo downloads cost money? Somebody told me that they cost like a buck each on the PS3 as well as the 360. If this is true, that is insanely retarded. Isn't a demo a form of advertising?

Nothing really big in news or anything, but it looks like the playb3yond website is finally finished. Their 'games' section is pretty neat, as it shows a lot of the big games coming out for the PS3, including trailers and screenshots.

I think they ditched some of the videos they had planned to release earlier as well, as I remember more 'Coming Soon' links than what they have right now. Oh well.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Haha wow. For a minute I thought that was you. Didn't you say you were thinking about auctioning off your PS3 earlier?

Wow. Santa really pulled though this year.

60GB PS3 bundled with an additional Sixaxis controller and Genji 2.

My question - Is Genji any good, or would you suggest I try selling it and swapping it for something else, like Resistance?

I was speaking idiomatically.

Ha HA! And now my grandparents pull through! Resistance is now sitting in my hands!

I know it's launch-game season for the PS3, but are there any other decent games out that I might want to look into? Or should I just try and sell the game and wait for say...MotorStorm.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Yeah, I've been pretty much downloading every single free thing that's available right now. I've literally been downloading this crap for about 5 hours.

I HAVEN'T EVEN GOTTEN A CHANCE TO PLAY IT.

Wow. Just picked up an HDMI cable and plugged my PS3 into my parents 50" Plasma TV and set the resolution to 1080i. I officially don't want to go back to school ever.

In other news, my little brother opened my copy of Genji, so there goes my option to return it. Oh well.

Does anybody here use a headset? I was thinking about going out to the store today and grabbing one, but wanted to know what kind/brand I should be looking for that's considered of better quality, or I guess more bang for my buck.

It's also compatible with bluetooth headsets? I'll have to give my headset a try then...

I'll write back when I got a chance to do that.

Huh...I got the PS3 to recognize my bluetooth headset, but I can't seem to get it to work online in Resistance. Is their an option you need to set in the game to enable headsets or something?

Also something that's weird - whenever I set my headset and try to log on to resistance, it won't connect, saying theres some kind of error. I have to go back and reset the internet settings. It will then work just fine, but isn't that kind of strange? Why would setting up my bluetooth headset have an effect on my wireless settings?

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Weird...it's not giving me the connection error anymore, and my bluetooth is now working just fine. Maybe I had one too many at the bars last night :/.

I'm sure I wasn't holding down L3 either. I'm very new to the 'online gaming' thing.

Well, I use the Jabra BT350. Works just fine with my phone as well as my PS3, and it's right in your price range. I got it at the Verizon store for about $70. It has some pretty cool features too, such as answer/end call, last number redial, call hold/wait, as well as a vibrate alert. I can't really compare it to other headsets though, as it is the only one I have really tried...

ALSO -

I'm playing ranked games in Resistance online, but it won't keep track of any of my games or stats, but shows all of the medals I have earned. What the hell? Is there something I'm doing wrong, or something technically wrong with the Resistance servers, or something like that? I've noticed this with a lot of other people I play against as well...

did you read the message they show before playing online? because you wouldn't have asked that question >.> (now go read it!)
D'oh!. I just assumed that was an online users agreement or something like that, which I ALWAYS just click 'accept' rapidly until I get to a screen I want to see...

I'll pay attention from now on . Thanks.

Quick question for people using blutooth headsets with their PS3's -

Should my PS3 be automatically finding my headset? It seems that I have to put my headset into pairing mode and go into the system settings every time I want to use it. Could it be something wrong with my headset, or is there some kind of 'trick' that I'm just not doing? It's pretty annoying...

EDIT:
Oh. Found this pretty nifty site - http://boardsus.playstation.com/play...read.id=898874

According to these guys, I'm not the only one with this problem. It could be caused after charging, after the PS3 is restarted, or simply because of the headset model. I have a Jabra 350, and some other guys who have the same headset say that they also have to put it into pairing mode every time they start up their PS3.

So if anybody is looking into a headset, maybe you can use this as a reference.

Wow. After watching those multiplayer videos of Warhawk, I have entirely changed my opinion of the game. This game has changed. A lot. The ground stuff looks way more intense than it did before, and just straight up fun. Warhawks zooming right above engaged in crazy dogfights while dropping mines on the ground troops below. I freaking want it.

Also - Warhawk for retail on Blu-Ray, not the PSN Store. Don't know how I feel about that really...I guess it dosen't matter to me. Sounds like it might just have a higher price tag now :/. Would it sell better in retail stores or online, I wonder?

Oh awesome. I heard about the downloading update, but wasn't aware that it would pause the downloads while you went online with a game. I wasn't really sure how that would work, and I guess I thought that it would either be a really crappy connection, or that you would simply not be able to go online with games while it downloaded. And you can queue up to 6 downloads? This is shaping up to be an incredibly nice update!

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Quote:
In an interview with French news site DNA, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe vice president says that Final Fantasy XIII's exclusivity to PlayStation 3 is under discussion:

"Enfin, pour Final Fantasy XIII, je peux vous dire que l'exclusivité est en discussion."

"Finally, for Final Fantasy XIII, I can tell you that exclusivity is being discussed."

I'm sure Fornay thought this was a positive statement to be making (the site was grilling him about PS3's lessening supply of exclusive games), but this is the first I've heard that suggests that FFXIII is anything but exclusive -- and from no less a personage than a high-ranking Sony exec.
Grooooaaann. I know that this means absolute shit and should be taken with a grain of salt, but just thinking of this makes me worry for some fucked up reason. I don't know why. I guess I just want Sony to do good, and be proud to own a very successful system rather than an overpriced mediocre one. I just think that it would be significantly harder for them to succeed after losing yet another major exclusive title. It's like they almost need this to be exclusive.

Maybe I'm just a little bitter about AC6 going xbox ...

and Square-Enix put enough time just to make the engine and work and I'm pretty sure will have to wait till end of 2008 maybe 2009 before seeing it here and i really don't want that they take more time to port it on another console...
Didn't SquareEnix say that FFXIII will run on their newly developed White Engine, which is an open platform engine that will allow the game to easily be ported? Whatever though. I do have some weird feeling that all of the numbered entries in the series will remain on Sony, and spinoffs or obscure titles will make it over to other consoles. That, or Sony is going to have to make a huge payoff to SquareEnix.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Everybody stop and rewind for a second. Where the hell did all of the hype for Motorstorm go. I haven't been home in about three months to try out anything with my PS3, so I haven't gotten a chance to really go out and purchase it. I would have expected everybody to be talking about it, but nobody has really said anything. I heard it is severely lacking in single play features, but online is a blast. Does anybody have this game? Is it worth a purchase?

Just picked up Motorstorm. Online = awesome, even though I have yet to win a single race. That game desperatly needs more features, though . Here's hoping for a massive update at some point.

I also read that the latest Official Xbox Magazine confirms that Ace Combat 6 is only a timed exclusive. Hopefully we'll see some AC lovin' on the PS3, then.

Is MKII just a port of the SNES game, or has it been enhanced like a lot of the other games Sony seems to be releasing?

I just read this article over at gamespot. Surprisingly, I think Warhawk is my most anticipated game so far this year. While the other ones look fucking fantastic, theres something about Warhawk that I want, now. The gameplay just looks so fast paced and insane, and if it is as intense as the videos make it out to be, then it looks like Quake III with planes. And I can't fucking wait.

And what's this it says about Killzone 2 in September? A hint of information that we may get, finally?

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Cool. I just got home and hadn't updated updated my PS3 in the longest time (it wasn't even at the 1.6 update). I think that one of the coolest features has to be the moving thumbnail icons you can make for videos. It just makes scrolling through the interface more...next-gen looking. I'm curious though, all of my video thumbnails run very smooth EXCEPT for the Lair trailer I downloaded. It runs very slow, with a very noticeable drop in frame rate. The video is fine - only the thumbnail is slow. Anybody else have this little problem?

EDIT:
I guess the Home trailer also seems a little slow, but its kind of hard to tell because there's not really much going on in that trailer. And wow I want that Ratchet & Clank game. I haven't even played any of the other ones yet.

Just out of curiosity...when is Home scheduled to be released? I can't imagine it's too far off, especially with it in beta and everything...

Also, Warhawk is officially my most anticipated game of the year. I know this video is old, but I just saw it for the first time the other day on GameTrailers - The Multiplayer Experience.

I didn't even think that playing online with 4 players on a single console was even possible. This game is setting some serious standards for online gaming. Games like Resistance and Motorstorm (...or any game with an online experience, for that matter) would have easily been 10 times better if they had taken the time to implement this.

Yeah, I am definitely going to keep my eye open for that Uncharted game. I always wondered what Naughty Dog was up to these days, and considering that Crash Bandicoot as well as Jak & Daxter were some of my favorite games when they initially came out, this game has some pretty high expectations from me.
