What would your parents do...

Keep in mind I'm the only child of Singaporean migrants, living in Australia.
17 years old (just) and I'm overprotected and... (insert rant...)

1. What would your family do if you told them you were doing drugs?
Freak. Nothing else. Probably confine me to the house. Something like that. It's a strictly no drugs kind of household. No drugs kind of family and extended family too I suppose. It's not the kind of thing that they look down on (well, not really) but it's the kind of thing that is definitely a big NO in our house.

2. If you told them you were going to marry some one of another race?
I don't think my parents would have too big a problem with this, since the daughter of a close family friend married an Aussie guy. But there would be problems, not huge ones, but just trying to overcome the cultural differences and stuff. And besides, Eurasian kids end up being sooo pretty! =)

3. What would they do if you told them you were gay?
It wouldn't happen but... I don't think they'd take to it kindly. I'm a Christian, as are my parents, so I just don't think it would gel.

4. That you decided not to go to college, even though you have the grades and money to go?
They'd force me to go. End of story.

5. That you were going to change your religion to one your family has never followed?
Again, I wouldn't do this but... I think they'd be a bit scared, a bit disappointed, but they have this habit of letting me make my own mistakes, if changing my religion was going to be one of those mistakes...

6. What would your family do if you said you had killed a person and needed help hiding from the police?
I think that they'd probably turn me in... Though, the fact that I'm an only child and I'm all they've got... Hahaha. Nah, I think they would turn me in. It's an interesting question though....
