As I've tried to get into more anime recently, I've found that I'm becoming partial to subs. The latest case of this would be when watching Gankutsuo, which arguably has terrible dubbing (except for when it comes to the Count, who comes off pretty decent. But not decent enough)
However, unlike some japanophile enthusiasts, I know a good dub when I hear one, and while it is a preference of mine to hear it in english, it doesn't make me any less objective about watching it in its native language. I'm not the fastest reader on the planet, though, which is another reason why I don't particularly like watching things with subtitles. I think the reading, even if it's dialog to move the story along, takes away from the experience. I mean, if I wanted to read, I'd pick up a book, right?
Anyway, some good dubs that I think are fan-fucking-tastic--and feel free to disagree with me here, but you're retarded if you do--are Trigun, Escaflowne, Magic Users Club, Gundam Wing... Hell, I'll even give Pokemon some credit, up until its most recent years, anyway.
MEANWHILE, those of you arguing that dubbing is for kids are retarded. Shut up and stop posting, please.
Jam it back in, in the dark.
