I like the rhythmic scheme you got going on here. I think the strongest part of this piece is definitely the way you put the words together.
As for the music itself, it doesn't sound very 'progressive', but it has a nice clean sound. I think it sounds pretty polished for the type of music you are going for.  I haven't worked much in the studio. How did you go about putting the piece together? Jam it back in, in the dark.

The reason I ask is that I am in the process of shopping my material to a studio, and I know how long it can take to get a finished album to the 'right people'. It sounds like you are in good hands.
I don't doubt that your stuff is progressive in some sense. I must admit I don't have enough of a foundation in the essence and history of hip hop to make any kind of definitive comparison. In this latest piece, I definitely got an old school (mid to late) 90's hip hop vibe from the chord progressions and the bass work. Sounds good for what you are going for. Good luck.
