Beating a 5 year old kid for not displaying motor skills and reflexes they don't have is not a very bright idea. Its gonna make them loopy as hell.

I assure you that a red handprint on someone's face probably requires excessive force. I know this very well actually. Incidentally, I am also quite loopy.
 My dad used to "thump" me on the head quite frequently. He's a good guy, and I don't hold it against him but I don't plan on slapping my children around for being children.
