Gah. The Gamestop I reserved my copy at isn't having a midnight opening. I'll have to wait for an extra 10 hours to get it, then.

Anyone (beside myself) getting the Wii version?

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Since I'm a total noob at Guitar Hero, I started off on Easy. Managed to handle all the songs though career mode. Never got less than 85% on all the songs (except Raining Blood, that one kicked my ass). Lost to Slash once, but the final battle is kicking my ass. No matter what crap I pull off on him, he always rebounds.

I tried Slow Ride on Normal... wtf? I can barely keep up. ;_;

So I marathoned GH3 this whole weekend. As I mentioned earlier I picked it up Saturday Afternoon. I've been playing it almost non stop for two days.
You wrists aren't hurting from all that playing? A good 4 hours of non-stop playing for me got my left wrist hurting.

I was speaking idiomatically.

I must give props to those who can play on Hard/Expert. I've been able to get through a few songs on Medium (trying to beat "One" right now). Sometimes I wonder how I manage to get some of the notes. Its like my fingers just happen to move of their own free will or something. It creeps me out. =/

And I managed to beat Through the Fire and Flames on Easy. I know, not an accomplishment to most of you, but it is to me, damnit!

Oh hay I can actually make it to 1% on Through the Fire and Flames on expert. =/ But I made it up to 74% on Medium. >_<

It's full of memories from my childhood.

Wohooo. Managed to beat Through the Fire and Flames on Medium.

I'm currently starting on playing the songs on Hard difficulty. It's so hard getting used to shifting my fingers just so I could reach that damn orange button. >_>

Try moving your entire hand over to those set of buttons when you reach for the orange button, instead of stretching your pinky out just for the orange buttons all the time. For the most part on Hard, if you have to land a orange key, the other buttons before or following will be closer to that end.
It seems to be working. Managed to start getting 4-5 stars on the first two tiers of songs, but the final two tiers are just beating me sensless (thanks to weird finger positioning to hit the right note combo).

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Unfortunately, I own the Wii version. So no battling for us ;_;

I've tried doing the hammer on and pull off tutorials (I assume I'll need top deal with these if I ever hope to do anything higher than a 3-star on hard/expert difficulties). On the tutorial I can do it just fine, but when I try to apply it to a normal song, I just can't seem to get it working right. Anyone have any tips?

How ya doing, buddy?

Ah, never realized only certain notes can be used for HOPO. I was wondering what was the deal with those shining notes. >_>

At least you can beat Raining Blood on Hard. I can't get past Mosh I. I'm starting to 4/5-star the songs on Hard, but the tier 7/8 songs are just insane. Not because of the speed, but songs like Before I Forget and 3's and 7's have ridiculously insane note patterns that come at me way too fast to react to.

And don't get me started on Through the Fire and Flames on Hard. Best I could do is 24% through the song, and that's if I can achieve Star Power when Post Insanity comes around.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Of course, you could always enter an "unlock all songs" cheat. >_>

I've tried dabbling into a few songs on expert, I apparently can 5-star "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" and "Story of My Life." I know, they're tier 1 songs, but I'm surprised I could play them. o_o

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

How do people get used to hitting GRB or RYO chords quickly? Getting my fingering to hit those is just... unnatural. =/

I tried Hyperspeed 5 on Hard difficulty. My scores were horrible, but when I turned it off it seemed like Hard's speed was the same as Medium and Medium went slow as molasses. I'm easily 5-starring the last few songs on medium that I just couldn't do.

But damnit, I still can't get higher than 3 stars on Through the Fire and Flames on Medium. ;_;

I've been using Hyperspeed 3, which seems to be about the same as earlier GH (which I went back and tested). I canned Hyperspeed 5 two and a half songs into it and HS1 and 2 didn't really seem to change much.

But damn...It works. So many sections where I lose my multipliers normally, I can see. Even Psychobilly Freakout makes some sense now. It's a double godsend for me, since I've been struggling with the speed difference from the Harmonix games to III for awhile. Now it's just fast and the board's cleaner.
Maybe I was overshooting myself with Hyperspeed 5. >_<

Used Hyperspeed 3, and while I sucked at the speed, when going to normal I can actually pass songs that seemed impossible for me (I'm looking at you, Before I Forget and 3's & 7's). Some other songs saw a slight to considerable improvement in my scores.

Jam it back in, in the dark.
