VAGUE IN WINTER 2 <zts> - [09] like stars

Just in case the powers that be missed it. I believe that this gives us a full slate for Epic Proportions; I'm disappointed/relieved no one tried to put up Secret of Mana +.

Boku no Te no Naka no Rakuen Original Sound Track - Papiliones Wow, this is really beautiful and ethereal. Its gets a little more strident after OH SNAP CELTIC BREAKDOWN, but still. Good stuff.

.hack//Link GAME MUSIC O.S.T. - evbtl08 (Tears of Feelings) Decent enough pop ballad style singing in a subtle vein. Some nice synth effects.

Okage: Shadow King (Game Rip) - HigherBreath So far this week the songs have been more laid back and listenable than the usual JBCS, and have disturbingly lacked pop beats and chipmunk vocals. This ends now! HigherBreath brings a lot of poppy energy (and health consciousness, listen to those girls singing about hydration!) with a surprisingly good melody and the quirkiness one would expect from the title.

Psycho Soldier Music Cassette - Psycho Soldier A fascinating piece of VGM history if nothing else. If I had to place it, I'd say it sounds like an 80's cartoon theme song of the Shuki Levy school.

Pure -AQUAPLUS LEGEND OF ACOUSTICS- - POWDER SNOW A lot more intimate than the preceding, with a nice set of acoustic instruments. Quite good if a little slow.

Rumble Roses XX Original Soundtrack - Rising Sun ~Piano Version~ This could accompanied a scene in the Japanese remake of "An Officer and a Gentleman," at least until the autotuner reared its ugly head and English crept into the lyrics. I just had to giggle a little.

Splashdown: Rides Gone Wild (Game Rip) - Ancient King of Bling If the voting was done on titles this would have won before voting even commenced, forever. Who knows, maybe the novelty of a comedy Egyptian rap will push it to victory yet?

Waterway ~Mio~ Ar tonelico II Hymmnos Concert Side Blue - EXEC_over.METHOD_SUBLIMATION/.~lamenza Definitely a bit darker than the other entrants, with grinding and crunching bass lines straight out of Uematsu. The vocals have their moments but occasionally try to push the voices out of their natural Sultriness Range.

I was quite literally astounded at the quality of this week. Even the worst tune served up a healthy dose of lulz.
