I feel so dirty for placing a request here, since the last thing rippers need is more people demanding that they sacrifice their time so that others can enjoy the fruits of their labor for free.

But I am wondering if any rip has been done, or is planned, for Harry Potter 3 or A Series of Unfortunate Events for the PS2/XBOX. Both are by Jeremy Soule, according to his website.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I'm very interested in a rip of "I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream," the adventure game based on the award-winning novella. I'd love to rip it myself, but only have access to a PC version, since the Macintosh port is rare and expensive. I was able to find the music files on the disc, but they're in an unknown format that I haven't been able to decompile. I'd be happy to provide the music files, of course.

The reason that I'm so interested is that the music was composed by John Ottman, who later became a famous film composer with credits like "The Usual Suspects," "X2," and "Superman Returns" to his name.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

What I've seen about the music was that it's MIDI, so I don't know what's with the unknown format.
Methinks that the MIDIs are inside the unknown format file; I was hoping to find actual MIDI files on the disc, since the music did sound MIDI-ish when I played the game. The filenames are MUSICGM.RES and MUSICFM.RES (about 300k apiece) if it helps convey what I meant.

Thanks for the link, though.

EDIT: Hell, the files are so tiny that I might as well post them--who knows what some enterprising sould might be able to do? I had to change the file extensions to .ZIP to upload them, but they're actually .RES files.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Man, that's great. Thanks!

Of course, I'll never be able to hear the music, since there is apparently no player or converter that supports XMI for OS X, but at least someone will.

Thanks to the decompressed files posted earlier in this thread, and some suggestions from other users, I've finally been able to put together a reasonable complete rip of "I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream" by John Ottman.

Thanks to the small size of the source files, they are all included with the rip, meaning that people with better technological skills are free to make their own version. Track titles are generic, since I haven't played the game in years, and the General MIDI quality is light-years away from an orchestra. But if you're an Ottman completist or VGM fan, hopefully it won't matter!

Sendspace link.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Might as well start the gimme gimme gimme back up

I got a gander at the new Spider-Man 3 game over the weekend; some of the tunes (particularly the opening movie) were quite good. I think it'd be a good candidate for rippage.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?
