Every now and then I've come by this part of the forum and noticed how threads exist in the album comments forums except for those for VGM albums. I've thought about posting one in there, but I was wondering before I did that if there was a reason it was empty aside from people just not posting there (i.e. people post them here instead, it wasn't empty but those threads fell through the cracks on recovery somehow, they review on VGMdb instead, etc.)?

It's not empty; the forum's default settings just don't show any threads older than a few months. If you'd like to see what's there, just tweak the settings.
I think that most people choose to do their reviewing elsewhere these days, but there's certainly older stuff there.
