Bah, "Destinations Unknown" has a nice poetic zing to it, but "Destionationz Unknown" sounds like the name of a bad college band. The name's been corrected for those who must mind their Z's and Q's.
I've also linked to the nominations folder version of Napple Tale for the time being. There's nowhere I can't reach.

The Napple Tale error has been corrected, and the link returned to the Voting directory.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

![]() Immortal 3 - Obsession 'Desert Run' Some nice, lively techno that doesn't fall into the trap of being hyper-repetitive. Not very deserty, perhaps, but who cares? Lemmings 2 The Tribes (Amiga Game Rip) - Sports Perhaps it suffers in comparison with the previous track, but this song (like all Lemmings tunes) didn't do much for me. It's too diffuse for my taste, and the melody was nothing special. Napple Tale Vol. 2 Illustrated Guide to the Monsters - Wild Wind Yoko Kanno is capable of some pretty tremendous stuff, but most of her material we've been treated to in SoTW has been on the banal side. This track, however, is stright out of her best, filled with bright orchestral colors and a lively melody. The slight Celtic lit adds a nice jaunty edge to the music, and the synth is excellent. In short, a fantastic song that'll be hard to beat for my number one spot. Shining Force III Premium Disc (Game Rip) - A Life of Harmony Rather similar in tone to the Napple Tale song that preceded it, this track has a nice lit to it, with a strong melody and plenty of color. The synth is a little tinny, but the music's strength is stil evident. I'd very much like to hear more in the same vein. The Terminator (Sega CD Red Book Audio) - Destinationz Unknown This piece builds a definite atmosphere with some nice keyboard work and guitar accents. Most of the time, the music doesn't rise above the basic keyboard and guitar churning, and when it does it's not for any sort of melodic interlude, but shredding some lixx. It's not bad, but there's a lot of unrealized potential. The Wanderer - G-Comp Laid-back aucoustic guitar work with some instrumental synth support and a slight hint of salsa. I like the atmosphere and flute melody here, though at times the song is a bit too Latin for my tastes. Waterworld (SNES Game Rip) - Diving If ever there was a song with some serious baggage attached to its name... Another atmoshperic piece, it manages a nice mood and techno feel even with SNES synth, which is no mean feat. It's a tad long, though, and meanders a bit toward the end. Ys III Wanderers from Ys (PC-Engine Red Book Audio) - Be Careful When it comes to Ys songs, I always hope for a dash of genuine rock opera styling, which the series often delivers (though just as often it coughs up a mass of noise like a bad hairball). This tune is somewhere in the middle, with some nice energy and little noodling but a melody that fails to really break out. More unrealized potential. A very good week. I don't know that I'd call it the best ever--hell, I can only remember the last ten or so weeks out of 100+ with any clarity--but it was still enjoyable. The Point Spread Napple Tale - 3 pts. Shining Force - 2 pts. The Wanderer - 1 pt. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

With CHz's explanation--that it is an original track created for the anniversary edition--I would say that it's fine. I would strongly oppose any actual MM5 tune, original or remixed (and that pretty much goes for anything from the classic or X series).
The one thing that would worry me is making Crash's track a precedent for getting widely-known tracks from the series snuck into SotW thanks to people seeing the "MM5" tag and nothing else. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Ah-hah, I was right about those floodgates! Look at CHz already calling dibs on future nominations! I am nothing if not a prophet
![]() Seriously, though, I would push for a blanket prohibition on the entire classic and X series, since there's a real nebulousness at where a "taper off" occurs in them both. I'd also be very squamish about the GB games, but that's probably because I'm very familiar with them. The others seem like relatively unpopular or obscure side stories or gaidens (or a full series in the case of BN), which are fine by me. I've never even heard of Star Force. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?
