I have the same problem. It happens everyday, pretty much coming out of nowhere (I could be browsing folders, browsing the Web, playing a game, etc.), I can't seem to be able to pinpoint what's the cause. It even happens if I don't touch to anything once the computer is started, after some hours. Once the error message has appeared, I also lose my audio and also the auto-play feature from CD drives. However, I can restore the audio by restarting the service "Windows Audio", which was stopped by the error.
My guess would be that it's somekind of a virus, but none get scanned by either anti-virus or anti-spam programs. I would try installing Service Pack 2, but it's already installed. Anyone has been able to solve this? Jam it back in, in the dark. |
