I hate it whenever people say that they just want kids because they're cute...
These people don't really give me the impression of having a genuinely good idea of what it's like to have kids or why people are happy having kids... For me, even though I at the moment won't consider having kids, I think it kind of depends on having a partner who already loves you for who you are and then thinking about what to do with it. I like to consider kids more like offspring than "pets" (something you get just because it's cute) like some people think, it's about having someone live a life of their own of whom you're a part, like how you're a decent part of their identity in more than just a conseptual/empirical relation. (I hope I didn't offend anyone by saying this.) Jam it back in, in the dark. |
