Spoiler:
You have to finish SSE to get Jigglypuff, Toon Link, and Wolf in SSE (obviously!) D:

Wolf is in a new door that appears on The Ruins, in that area where spikes start popping out of the walls and you're riding a platform down. Just ignore the first door and go all the way to the bottom.

So, since yesterday was my birthday (brawl launch day whee) I decided to walk into a store and buy the last non-reserve copy they had. Then I spent entire day unlocking everyone (took about 11 hours because I'm slow and wanted to 100% all of SSE. I realized that is impossible until you actually FINISH SSE first...)

Played a few online matches, it was kinda laggy but not really. Enough to still use speedy characters and not look like an idiot.

I suppose I'll go back to Events and the other modes now >_>;

How ya doing, buddy?

I savoured the adventure on Normal mode, now it's just a test to beat it on Hard, Very Hard, and Intense.

(Easy too but who cares about Easy mode ;p)

Almost done with all of Event mode, the Challenge wall is looking a little more clear now.

Some of those Events are just flat out rigged, especially on Hard where you die in 2~3 hits.

I'm not 100% sure myself but I do also feel like some of the stages have some areas where a certain character will need to be used, usually someone who can get really high up, like a Kirby or so. Might be just my lack of jumping skills but that I how I felt in a few areas as I've been going through SSE.
Pretty much.

At least 5 stages require either Pit or someone else who can get as high in the air as him.

For other things missing, you have to think outside the box. Some things are VERY last minute (meaning if you don't grab it then you miss it forever*, but if you take too long you will be killed by the stage) and you can't see them on the screen so explore the unknown >_>

I'm about 45% through SSE, and I've so far unlocked C. Falcon, Marth, and Falco. I've unlocked Falcon, Ness, Luigi, and Lucario via main Brawl matches as well.

Hey, Chaotic-- About your post for unlocking Toon Link, Wolf, et al... Do you have to have beaten SSE before they appear? I found the door in The Forest [I think the one you're talking about, anyway] and there's just an item box and a fire bumper-thing. Haven't tried the others yet.

Yes you do. When you find the proper door it will be a 1vs1 battle against that person (after their introduction) with whoever you are currently controlling, on their stage. After you are done the level you were playing ends and you unlock them if you win.

*Until you restart the stage and try again, anyway.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

So I could go at it on easy and not miss out on anything by beating SSE on harder difficulties?
You could potentially miss out on some boss trophies, but those can be gotten in time.

Harder difficulties drop more trophy bases for you to throw, but patience (and a sticker) can make up for that.

Hmm, lag will probably hit me one day soon, so far I haven't experienced any debilitating lag except for once with another person who is confirmed to have router issues. The matches I had with BigCN seemed fine to me. A couple of test rounds with my friends said that it was laggy on their side when we played, but it really wasn't on my side. They're looking into port forwarding and stuff in order to apparently decrease the lag.

Silly questions, but do people's names change when you've both added each other? I'm leafing through my list not remembering who's who for some people now.
Unless they picked the exact same method of writing the name as you did, yeah.

Nintendo claims the lag on WFC is because the servers are not ready for the load that Brawl is putting out right now, so they've been trying to resolve that. They won't bother you with Friend battles, but when I was trying it yesterday and some of today, Anybody was closed off (could still Spectate though) so they could work on it.

I read somewhere that online battles don't count... but I would not know for sure.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Anyone else have shitloads of trouble with Event #14 1P? I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing, as I spent 10 minutes per match just mauling Pikachu and the PT Trio.
You're supposed to avoid them while having all six Pikmin out so they eventually sprout flowers on their head.

20 Challenges or so left on the Challenge wall.

All stuff I do not want to do or have not been able to do (50 hours of brawling, 5000 KOs, beat 100-man brawl with everyone.. etc etc).

When I did all the Events, they were pretty simple on Easy, still easy on Normal, and then when I got to Hard I wanted to pull my hair out on a few.

Mainly #13 - Dragoon Strike, #17 Super Waterfull Climb (mostly due to timing issues with the Up+B though for me), #27 - Three-Beast Carnage, and #41 - The FINAL Final Battle.

Taco knows how much #41 pissed me off.

Spoiler:
Freaking Giant Mario. Sonic and Snake are fine since they are normal sized, but GIANT MARIO UGH.

Kind of a shame that Fire Emblem and Mother are not in the Masterpieces list anymore, but then again, the Mother demo would almost expire from just reading through the text.

Some of these demo times are pretty funny though.

Has anyone had the chance to see the hilarity that is the Mr. Resetti assist trophy? I would've enjoyed it more had I not been playing an All Star challenge at the time >_>

Oh, also, can someone throw me a bone in what they're actually looking for in terms of 100% completion for SSE? Is it just picking up all the possible trophies in a stage? Because for some of them, I'm damn sure I got em all, yet I don't get that nice little flag on my map.
I hate him. I died because I was too busy reading the text (and I was the one who used him, even!)

100% Completion in SSE is opening all doors, finishing all stages, breaking open all orange cubes, and picking up any trophies that are lying in the stage that are one time.

A flag means you are incomplete, a crown means you are 100% complete (for the stage).

Jam it back in, in the dark.

About the Challenge wall... I grabbed one of my hammers and just randomly picked a window, and... Well, heh. I wasn't allowed to break that window, apparently. The hammer wouldn't work. Now I know there are windows like this, but I found it amusing that the FIRST one I chose was one of those unbreakable ones.
You probably ended up picking one of the hardest challenges then (those are ones that cannot be broken). How lucky? Unlucky? Who knows!

There's nowhere I can't reach.

So which ones can't be broken? I had assumed it would be things like unlocking all characters, because you can't really go have All-Star Mode if everyone isn't unlocked yet.

Don't tell me it's stuff like the kill 5 people in cruel brawl one, because that one can eat a large variety of penis.
One of them is Beat Boss Battles on Very Hard, I think.

Basically stuff that is V. Hard & Intense?

The 5 people in Cruel Brawl is easy... it is the

that made me angry.

So any tips on how to easily beat the crap out of those alloys in Cruel Melee? Using DK totally doesn't work.
Getting very lucky with Ike!

I've seen a video on how to do it with Kirby/Ike/Marth/etc without getting too badly harmed, but it is totally cheap.

It involves doing this (video inside):

Easiest but Cheapest way to beat Cruel Brawl (works with various others):

I am slowly working on the Collect all Stickers and Collect all Trophies challenges.

Very slowly. For I have little desire to fight the SSE bosses waiting for those trophy bases >_>;

Remind me how that works? Can you just nail them with it as soon as one happens to appear, or do you have to get their health bar down a ways before chucking it at them, or what?
They have to be almost dead, otherwise it just gets absorbed and nothing happens. The same is true for various enemies in SSE.

I almost had one for Diddy & Fox's boss but I dropped the base (you kinda have to unless you just want to fight with your B attacks only), and when I turned around to do a hit, it ended up wiping all of its life out, denying me my trophy attempt.

One thing I miss is being able to tap 'down' to make yourself fall faster. They should've left that in... I find myself doing it all the time because I'm falling too slowly, and NOTHING HAPPENS. D:

As for the random switch, I think I unlocked something like that. I saw that I got 'Random Stage Select' or something while playing regular Brawls, but I haven't actually checked out the option yet.
I swear I must be the only one who actually does fall faster when pushing down.

It's not amazing fast, but it's an improvement.

My only gripe with the Final Boss (of SSE and Boss Battles) is that sometimes I forget about his Instant KO attack that you have to dodge 3 times, and think I can just hop over it or something. Silly me.

I am getting closer to the end of my challenges, so I figure I would post up my Friend Code.

I'm pretty sure you can drop your save data onto the SD card...at least I think thats what I read.

I'm also pretty impressed how differently wolf, falco and fox all play
You cannot.

Due to it having online features SD Card transfer is disabled for the main data.

Which is kind of silly.

Well with ~700 Stickers, ~545 Trophies, and ~258 songs* to unlock (only a handful are gotten by Challenge), I guess they want to give you a reason to keep playing many times.

*Do not really remember if it is 258 or so that you have to actually find, but it is some giant number that will take you an eternity unless you farm CDs in any case.

I have not bothered to get on WFC to add anyone yet so that is my response. I will start adding the whole lot of you (although it will get hard to keep track of some of the people with the limit on names and all that) though in a few minutes.

On the topic of WFC, I was slightly amused by random complaints on various forums about how Options and Spectator are not showing up in WFC. It says quite clearly in the instruction manual that they will not always be available (and after numerous battles with Nintendo someone confirmed that if the server is heavily stressed those options are disabled for some to try to cut the load). Although that was not the part that amused me.

The part that did was the solution: "Delete your data and the options will appear"

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Some of the stages are really tricky.

Subspace Bomb Factory:

*In room with spinning platforms (The Ferris Wheels), hop on the spring at the top and attack when you go off screen to break an orange box.
*Before the fight with the boss in the last downward scrolling area, there is a trophy hiding in the lower right corner of the Gate that spews Mites.

It depends on what the stage is, there is one stage (I keep forgetting the darn name because I do not want to see SSE for a day or two) with the floating mines, you have to destroy one of the mines when it is at the peak, thus blowing up the ceiling and revealing another trophy.

I was able to beat Boss Battles Intense entirely using just his dAir (the Downstab), spot dodging (The down dodge where you stand), aerial dodging, and perfect shield.

Can someone explain to me how some characters just randomly start glowing and have their final smash?
It is called Pity Final Smash. (Bottom section)

If someone gets KO'd a bunch of times they have a chance to respawn with their Final Smash already.

The only way to disable it is to turn off Final Smashes entirely.

Apparently the Aura is no match for Counter.

I was honestly surprised at how flawless the matches were, with the exception of little hiccups now and then.
