You could just skip to Acid2 (since the storylines don't directly connect), but then you'd be missing out on a whole game (since you'll probably not want to go back to Acid1's gameplay after you play the second).

I probably will just skip to Acid 2, because, as you say, the second will will make the first one kind of obsolete. Plus Acid 2 has a whole bunch of Solid Eye movies, so replay value is good.
