It's also largely a matter of convenience. The Hillary Campaign is practically swimming in money, so it looks good to give this one donation back to somebody that could be a political liability.
Of course, it's not as if Clinton has just started acting like this bias exists. At the CIO "debate," she made it clear how valuable lobbyists were for things like nurses, even though a lobby for nurses no more represents the average American than a lobby for tobacco or anti-tobacco.
