I didn't have a very keen graphics card when I played Doom 3 and I still enjoyed it. At this point, you'd probably only need to shell out 150 to 200 dollars to get a card that'll run Doom 3 with decent performance and imagery.
That said, I'd wholeheartedly recommend getting Sin Episodes: Emergence off of Steam if you haven't played Sin before, as the original game comes bundled with it. Otherwise, it depends on how much you really want to shell out 20 dollars for 6 hours of gameplay. Then again, I did pay 20 bucks for a Dark Crystal DVD. Anywho, it's a pretty freaking awesome 6 hours, so think about it. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Yeah, play Episode 1 and feel like Valve sucker-punched you for 20 dollars worth of incremental story development.
