Fallout, most definitely. I understand I talk about a lot, but it's the only CRPG so far aside from Planescape that lets you roleplay a character in a consistant gameworld through character interaction instead of just falling back on simple good/evil choices or class constrictions. Plus the setting is just wild. Nothing says fun like a retro-futuristic nuclear apocalypse.
As for Half-Life 2, the best thing about it, I think, is that reviewers are starting to toy around with the idea of the game looking dated. If it starts becoming a more common practice, then it just confirms my theory that we've reached a graphical Uncanny Valley. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
