I've been having a blast with the Stage Creator. It's really limited, as many sites have also reported, but gawd some of the stages I've created are LOL kind of arenas .

Here's some of my meaningless rambling about the third party characters, should they be relevant or not. Oh my, spoiler tags are back!

Spoiler:
I attempted to play as Sonic today, and I have to say: I'm not touching him with a ten-foot pole. Sure, he's crazy in terms of racking up damage, but he's virtually got no knock-out kind of attacks (unless your opponent is on MASSIVE DAMAGE). I suppose the more I play as him, the better he'll become but Sonic just feels too light.

SuperSonic's gonna quote and write a rebuttal to that paragraph, I can tell . Or not.

As for Snake, he's actually quite powerful, with some nice powerful moves, but with that comes poor agility and god-awful recovery. Snake can run around some, and his Smash moves are sluggish, but powerful. His specials are useful. His jumps are horrid, however and trying to use his Up+B move feels like trying to control a cow. Still, out of the third party guys, I'd choose Snake.

Oh, and Spectator Mode (the one where you watch online matches) gets very addictive, especially when bonus items are at stake. Gamble, gamble!

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Would anyone know if the random stage select options are still in the game? The ones that were in additional rules in Melee and allowed you to turn stages off so they wouldnt show up when you selected a random stage.
And if so do the options include custom stages?
Yes, that option is still up (I actually selected that option and took 30 minutes trying to change it back). It also includes the custom stages, so that's all cool.

The June 6th release date rumour is the second June release rumour for the Europeans/Australians. Perhaps this may be an indication of when we're getting it?

Ah screw that. GIVE US A RELEASE DATE NOW ;_; us poor PAL people.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Where exactly are the user made stages saved when you make them? I'm guessing you can save them to your SDs in some form or another like the screenshots correct? And wouldnt that mean you could upload them onto your PC and make them downloadable?
You could make them downloadable, I suppose. The custom stages are saved into .bin files, so if we were to upload them then it might work. You can save the stages on both the Wii and an SD card, but I've been using the SD (obviously cause it has more space).

You can play your stages directly off the SD card too, which is awesome

How ya doing, buddy?

-_-... The wait for an PAL version of Smash is killing me. Smash Brothers ain't gonna come out until the year 2100. Fact.

My question is this: For those who reside in America and have had the Japanese version of SSBB (be it hard-copy or downloaded), does the "Random" Wifi-match work now? If I remember correctly, the only way you could connect online in the Japanese Smash Bros was through Friend Codes (and your friend had to be in the same country).

The reason why I ask is because I want to import the US version, but being in Australia, random match-ups won't work. If the Japanese copies of Brawl now connect online in the US, then perhaps when Brawl comes out here, my US version would connect online random matches. Any ideas?

Yeh, the title says discussion on matches only, but I feel a little left out. Any ideas on whether I will be able to connect RAndomly once Smash comes out here?

EDIT: Meh, never mind. T'was a legimate question (sarcasm was intended only for the first line), but now that the focus of the thread has changed, I posted in the wrong place then. Sorry guys.

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

To be honest, Brawl hasn't captured my attention the same way Melee or even the 64 version did. While the inclusion of online has certainly added to Brawl's "replayability" I think that because it was more of the same, sustained interest for the game was going to be hard.

I think this applies in the situation here: we've pretty much discussed the Smash series to the point of death, Brawl's new mechanics/characters and just left it at that (and hence the lack of activity). Of course, we could go into a mad frenzy of GameFAQs-esque mindless drivel such as "1K3 sh0uLd b3 t0p t1erz!!!!", but this isn't what GFF is. Just. No.

[/two cents]

I was speaking idiomatically.
