For god's sake release some info about TP now! Revolution's been getting too much time in the light, shoving this potentially great game into the depths of the unknown. Hell, more screenshots would ease the pain.
THANK GOD GFF is BACK UP! I SIGNED UP AT GAMEFAQS TO VENT MY ANGER ON THE LACK OF ZELDA NEWS! Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Now that the release date is April, I'm thinking that if no Revolution features are announced I'll be disappointed. Well, that and if the game doesn't turn out to be the greatest collage of every past Zelda game so far.
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Woops, mistake... It's just that "fall" over in this country is March to May :P. Erhem... But still, SEPTEMBER - NOVEMBER????
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
I always thought that the fog was to give more power in processing the number of people on one screen! Against OoT, TP's town looks more lively and I'd prefer the fog rather than a pre-rendered screen ala Hyrule Town on the 64.
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
Look, you either buy it regardless of Revo features, or you don't. If you don't, you can wait another 3 years for the next Zelda.
I'd rather get it regardless of TP having TP features. And if the launch of Revo is weak, hell TP would be a bonus. Nicely, that. I was speaking idiomatically. |
IMO OoT's bosses were extremely well done. But I would like to see more outright fights (fights against staflos etc, Majora's Mask forest boss). Puppet Ganon was cool. WW bosses were forced, I reckon.
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
Well, releasing it now would help TP's sales not being taken away by Wii and all...
But it's not going to happen. Most amazing jew boots |
I'm guessing they're putting an amount of extra stuff that'll warrant the Wii compatibility. We all know that the Wii controller can be used when played on it, but with the extra power they might also help the graphics a bit. More stages? Alternate story-line when you play from GCN to Wii? I don't know. But I'm hoping this time wasn't ONLY to make the TP compatible with the Wii controller. There's got to be more than that. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
SOLD. TP has owned my soul.
(though it did that from the very first trailer). Better scans can probably be found in Zelda fansites. Go hunting, guys! Most amazing jew boots |
2 hours to go. Am I to go to sleep in two hours?
Argh all this tension is making me write puns (bad habit). To keep to the thread, I've noticed while looking back at the gameplay videos that the types of subjects raised by the NPC's are quite "mature". I remember seeing a villager talk to Link about marriage and stuff. Will this occur when Link talks to most NPC's? If so, they've done great in keeping with the "mature" theme, There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Give me the huge bosses. Give me enemies that use sword and shield as well (although I think that's covered judging from the videos I saw). Give us Vaati in 3D!!!
Whatever it'll be, it'll be awesome. Look forward to taking on the Balrog-like boss (fire boss). This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Well, if they held back the development kits then Nintendo would be WAAAAAY behind the competition. Okay, "it's not competing" against Sony or Microsoft but X360 will be out for a year once Wii comes out, and Sony will take up the console competition space with it's November launch. Then out comes out this little Wii. Wii what? Wii who?
Really, it's do or die. If they release it later Nintendo will have to pull a DS out of their ass if they're gonna survive the Sony and MS onslaught. Back on topic, since the GCN version ain't gonna be much different from the Wii version might there be a chance to have it out earlier? C'mon, they surely can't still be "finish touch"-ing it for more than a year can they? I preordered the game since last May and can't be stuffed cancelling it for the Wii version. I'm gonna be one of the few people who will buy both versions of it (simply because I'm rich *sarcasm*. Nah, I just love the Zelda series). I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
I'm sure everyone has seen the screenshots of TP post-e3 and there's a topic I'd like to touch on since this thread was revived -_-'...
One aspect that Nintendo has seemed to focus on is the Twilight World. And looking at the screenshots rather than go with the black and white scheme, Nintendo has opted to go for a more saturated look. What to people think about this small and subtle change? To show what I mean: Old Twilight World: http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e3...w_zelda_11.jpg New Twilight World: http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e3...ght-prince.jpg I was speaking idiomatically. |
Hey hey hey, before we slit Ninty's throat for putting swinging motions into Zelda, we have to clear up on something first: Does the controller require FULL motion to translate into the swing?
Say for example if I could just flick my wrist then I believe that it'll be good enough. If this Zelda motion sword swing turns out to be full-blown swings then I'll be unsure about it. How ya doing, buddy? |
I think you're talking about the E3 demo control scheme. They've recently commented on the new controls.
But I would tell everyone to reserve their judgement until they actually try the control style. There's the question of tiredness, but whether or not it impacts on our gaming experience has yet to be known. FELIPE NO |
With Zelda TP NEARLY coming out and with my hype of the game nowhere as big as it was before, I've thought about something: After TP, what will we see in the next Zelda game?
I remember back in 2004/5 Miyamoto was quoted, "this will be the last time you'll play Zelda like this". Although now we have the Wii version, I can't help but think what would happen if they didn't have the Wii version, instead releasing a totally new Zelda fresh with a fully utilised Wii-interface. Surely there can be more to just "aiming" for arrows and "swining" for swords, right? What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
You know, I hear it's the pot he's growing in his garden. You know, the ones he calls "Pikmin"...
But yeh, Peer echoes my thoughts exactly. TP Wii doesn't seem like what Miyamoto stated a few years ago and when he announced that TP was "going to be the last Zelda game you'll experience in that way" (loosely quoted), Slapping on a Wii control scheme on a Cube game AND limiting sword swings into doing one action seems much like an after-thought. What would've happened if they released Zelda a year ago and worked on an all new Zelda adventure exclusive for Wii? Jam it back in, in the dark. |
OMG NEW VIDEO
http://us.wii.com/viewer_zelda.jsp?vid=9 and weep! EDIT: To add more to this post, this is the trailer they showed in the Australian Wii Parties, in which one of my brother's friends won. TRIPLE POST: Actually, just go here http://us.wii.com/soft_loz_tp.jsp There's nowhere I can't reach. |
If you're playing a Zelda game without wanting to delve into at least some of the side quests, you've got the wrong game.
30-50 hours main game is awesome for me, as throughout the duration of the Gamecube, I only played around 4 of my 20 or so games which had that kind of length. These days, the Cube sits there only to be used in multiplayer epics (Smash Bros with my evenly matched bro). Matt's 'updated' (as of Saturday) information on Zelda was too tempting. However, I scrolled down and tried picking out the non-spoiling, important tidbits. DOUBLE POST: The aspect I'm loving the most ATM is the fact that Zelda has captured the mystic, dream-like feeling ICO was able to convey. Of course, I'm only talking about some areas (the foggy areas, Twilight World), but the other areas also seem to successfully convey a sense of dwarfing Link. Even the cities seem alive with people walking in the streets, stands and whatnot. Brilliant art direction has made time go slower!!! This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
For those who won't buy Zelda if it doesn't get 10/10:
http://www.thehylia.com/index.php?su..._from=&ucat=9& Very fair, un-biased and spoiler free review. Although not by a profession journalist, the reviewer here is sensible and doesn't let the fanboyness get into the system during the review. I link this article because it still manages to make Zelda sound like a 10/10 game. Some things he write I don't agree with (his view on the graphics my main gripe), but it's a minor thing. Honestly, do the graphics need to be X360 standard to be beautiful? Well okay, technically the graphics aren't advanced, but in terms of art direction and presentation, I believe Zelda delivers. Or perhaps I should reserve judgement until the day I get it. Edit: More reviews popping up, so far GameStats.com's average for the game so far is 9.8 for two reviews (gamespy and undergroundsomethingmajigy). There we go. Most amazing jew boots |
Reading around so far, Zelda TP has been quoted as the "true spiritual successor of OoT", and the average scores are virtually perfect (keyword virtually). Why? Coz the gRaf1xZ r n0t l33tZ! Understandable, yes, but the reviewers picking on the score because of this factor are getting it wrong. So what if some blurry things here and there? What about art direction (though some sites have pointed that out, thank god for that)? I was speaking idiomatically. |
Man, some of the elements in TP so far feel out of place. From: Spoiler:
How ya doing, buddy? |
As to your second question, playing the GCN version after the Wii one was initially weird, but after that it became natural. It actually feels like you're playing a different Zelda game altogether, seeing how you have to work the puzzles out in reverse. FELIPE NO |
