How am I supposed to do that? The only goddamn things they cast are Death, Annul and Darkra/Whatever the hell..
I know I know...but if you lucky they may do Dimensional Rift...maybe. Press right/left on the D-Pad. Look at their HP. When it is really low as in one more hit and they die, then you wait...and wait... and they do some kamikaze shit.

And I don't think you know how hilarious that last line is, Yuyu. Once those Reapers are on your ass, and so is LE, you're getting the fuck out of that map ASAP
LMAO!!! That's why I told you if you really really really wanted to chain Larva Eater you 're gonna have to do that.

Quote:
I think I'll just miss chaining him because that's damn near impossible (hell Reapers). Wish me luck.
Exactly. Don't chain him, it's a big waste of time. Just kill the Reapers and then finish off Larva Eater. It'll be way much easier. Remeber don't use 2-Handed weapons two finish him off cause you might inadvertently knock him flying to fence surrounding the Waystone and he won't drop anything! Happened to me like 5 times! Good luck!

What the hell... At any given time, 2 of my 3 party members are using a 2H weapon. This is going to be a problem, man. What did you use?
Oops. When I say 2-Handed weapons, I mean the big guns like Excal. & Tourn. I don't know if weapons like Poles or Katanas knock enemies away but I know for a fact that 2H Swords knock away enemies. You can use the 2-Handed Swords but just don't kill him with it cause he might go flying somewhere. Keep him to the center of the arena near the Waystone if you still persist on using your weapons. Let's see...

I used...

Ashe: Gastrophetes/Sapping Bolts
Penelo: Grand Mace
Balthier: Durandal

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Now the problem is that those weapons suck badly compared to the 2H ones I use (Whale Whisker, Tournesol, Excalibur). It's only going to make killing the Reapers a long and drawn out affair, and Larvae Eater himself is going to parry the shit out of most of those.
Yeah, Larva Eater does parry ALOT but it still didn't affect me to the point where I had to use 2H-Swords. I mean for the Reapers, just finish them off as quick as possible by using your Excal. and stuff cause I did the same. I was just playing it real real safe by choosing those weapons. I don't think poles knock enemies away so the Whale Whisker maybe a good choice.

The only problem is once you start constantly knocking Larva Eater away to the gate surrounding the Waystone, you might not want to reconsider the weapon that made him hit the wall. As long as you fight him in near the middle, your fine.

Oh the parrying is only irritating, since all Gargoyle/Imp enemies do it to a certain extent. It's nothing that a cameo belt can't fix, for example. Poles definitely knock enemies away, into their "critical" death animation (the blowback one).
I guess poles are out of the list of possible weapons to use for his death wish.

I think he has an elemental weakness. In Necrohol of Nabudis, those gargoyles were vulnerable against wind damage so I guess Larva Eater maybe too. So, if you have like, let's say Staff of the Magi then that would be fine to use against him.

I was speaking idiomatically.

I tried doing the Danjuro shit again, no go. Apparently, Yuyu, you cannot kill the Reapers. It breaks the chain of Necrophobes needed to get Larvae Eater to spawn, so if you do that, you have to go back and kill them until you get a high enough amount for him to appear.
This is by far the most confusing and annoying weapon to get because all these theories are not 100% accurate. When you keep zoning from one place to another he he only appears when he feels like it unlike Bombshell who stays locked. I know killing the Reapers break the Necrophobe chain but I did it anyway and did not kill the Necrophobes back at Leo Gate Switch area because...
  • They didn't appear
  • I already killed all of them
  • It would seem ridiculous to kill a ton of Necrophobes again to spawn a single monster

I know you are starting to feel real skeptical right now but I will perform this Larva Eater hunt again just to see and show you EXACTLY how I did it and I will keep you updated. As a matter of fact, I'll try to set up my video camera (if it still works) to show you how I did it.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Right off the bat, the Danjuro in my inventory. I took the Aegis Shield off so you can see it. As you can see, this is a pretty big ass dagger. I'll start posting videos of me killing Larva Eater and attempting to get the dagger (yet again)

Rigged? Yes, but he's actually beatable. If SE had done some bullshit like give him Putrid Breath/Curse/Pox or some crap like multi reverse+curaja, he'd be way harder. Same goes for Omega.
Who is harder though, Yiazmat or Omega? Because after I eliminated like half of his health bars, Ninja weapons weren't doing as much damage as they used to even though he didn't do Growing Threat. So far, Cyclone isn't anything to worry about but we'll see And can he get all of his power back if you flee the battle while he has on Regen?

(I will have to by a new video camera for the hunt because this Phillips FunCam can only record up to 30 sec. of video which is not enough to show hardly anything. I don't know, would you care if I did pictures instead or no?)

So whos actually worse to fight against? Yiazmat here, or perhaps the Diamond Weapon from FF7? Or if there's been a tougher opponent than these guys mentioned, from like FF8 or 9, list em.
Nemesis in FFX. Almost impossible to beat without high agility and Quick Hit. (or Penance...) I think Penance is harder

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I'm ready for Gilgmesh, what should I equip? =O
You were been ready 20 levels ago because that's when I beat him, around level 60-65. I don't think any other hunt should be a problem for you now except the last one. How about getting Bubble Belts

Why are you using Quickenings that late in the game? Those things are unreliable, plus they empty out your MP gauge. Bad idea during some of these hunts.

Last time I used one seriously was over in Raithwall's Tomb on the optional Demon Wall. Besides that, I just used them to get Gabranth in the den.
I'm not gonna lie, I used Quickenings against Pylraster to kill him but only when he was about to die. He deals waay too much damage even when my party has Protect and when I revive a character, he instantly kills them by doing attacks that range from about 6000-7000 damage.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Edit: Anyone got a good gambit setup for the Omega fight?
Bubble spell or Bubble Belt is definetely recommended

All 3 party members:

1- Ally:any Arise
2- Ally:HP < 50% Curaja
3- Ally:any Haste/Hastega
4- Ally: nearest visible Attack

Basically, all you need to do is attack and heal. But his attack varies around 5000-6000 damage even with Protect on so I'm assuming he ignores defense. When he is at HP Critical status, Expose tecknick may help out. Personally, I think Omega is harder than Yiazmat because Omega is kind of fast with dealing attacks and causes random Berserk status when attacking.

If 2 of your party members die, you may want to Flee at a safe distance and revive a character, then cast Haste/Hastega since Omega will regain his health if you don't fight him for some time, then rebuff them.
