God-fucking-damnit! I grew up watching his movies in the 80's. The Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Weird Science and Pretty In Pink are some of my favorite movies of all time. Sad day for film history indeed.

Wasn't he working on a new movie?

Yeah, I knew as much from an interview that's on the Ferris Bueller's Day Off DVD. (I think it's on that one, at least) I had just heard from a friend that he was rumored to be working on writing another movie. As far as I know, the last movie he directed was Curly Sue.

There's nowhere I can't reach.
