The best game ever created for PC gaming is one that few have ever had the chance to enjoy: Grim Fandango
I made a thread for it a long time ago and I'm sure it's buried somewhere but yeah... This game was, by far, one of the reasons why I still believe that games can evoke visceral emotional responses with only the use of sharply-written dialogue, original characters and the oh-so-perfectly-fitting setting. Let's not forget the soundtrack, which I consider to be one of the best (if not THE best) video game soundtracks ever conceived. So many great memories. So many quotable phrases. Only ONE Manny Calavera. <3 Truly a gem in a time when designers like Carmack and Romero ran around in circles reinventing the wheel only to run themselves over with it. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
