Same, but bigger. Just as expected from a new generation of Pokémon games. Apart from the internet multiplayer feature, it's just the same old game I once used to love but which has now become old and boring.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I just recently bought Diamond and it's been a while (about five years) since I played any of the standard Pokémon games.

Now there are a few things I would like to know about stats and how they are affected as a Pokémon grows in level.

1.In Red & Blue there was a glitch which allowed you to duplicate any item of choice. My instant choice was the Rare Candy, for obvious reasons. However I later discovered (or I think I did, it was a long time ago and I was like 11 years old) that using rare candies to level up penalizes stat gain, so that when your pokémon reaches lv 100, it's pretty much useless if you want to have any chance in link battles. Is it still like that in Pearl & Diamond?

2. I always thought that if you delay the evolution of a Pokémon, or if you wait until trading/using evolution-triggering items until it's high in level, the final stats when it gets to lv 100 will be lower than normal. Is that true?

3. I really don't know where I got this from but somehow I had the idea that leveling against wild pokémon gives better end (lv 100) stats than trainers (or the elite four). I always avoided leveling at the elite four for that reason.

The answers to these questions are probably obvious to most of you but i've been racking my brains over them for a few days now and i'd be really glad if someone could help me

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Thanks for the answers, they were enlightening

I didn't know about EV training at all. I understand now why leveling your Pokémon solely on rare candies would create a bad result. And since leveling at the Elite Four involves fighting the same Pokémon all over again, it's not so strange you'd get less EV training...

Now I'll just have to read everything there is to know about EV training and grasp the full concept

BTW: As you're talking about shiny Pokémon I'd like to know, what's the chance of actually encountering one? I played Pokémon Gold for hundreds of hours but the only way I ever got a shiny was through my cheat adapter.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I just need to pop a question about the game mechanics for a second. Is there any way to request pokemon your pokedex hasn't registered over the GTS? Or is there any way to fill in the gaps other than trading or battling with people over Wifi or wireless?

I thought by playing the battle tower I could fill my pokedex up since you meet alot of random pokemon, but it seems like pokemon you encounter inside the battle tower wont show up on your pokedex.

I've been trying to get someone to help me get a full encounter list of all pokemon, but without any luck so far. Obviously it's an extremely time-demanding task and it would suck if there's no way around it.

How ya doing, buddy?
