Craving a good historical adventure/romance...
Hi kids. I just watched The Count of Monte Cristo for the first time yesterday and I absolutely loved it. It satisfied a craving I've had for a while for a good adventure full of romance, betrayal, revenge, swordplay, and British accents. Now I want more of it. Whether it be a book or a movie I am interested in anything with that kind of essence. Anything from the French Revolution era...or maybe a good pirate story...I don't know. Something. A good historical adventure. So far I've added The Count of Monte Cristo (the book), The Three Musketeers, and the Man in the Iron Mask to my list. They're all by Alexandre Dumas because he's the only author I can find who's written this kind of story. So, if anyone has any other recommendations (I'm also interested in the medieval era, and the American Revolution), post them here. Thanks.
Also...I was reading about a book called "A Rose in the Crown" recently, by Anne Easter Smith. Has anyone read that book, or any of her work, who can give me an idea of how good she is? Thanks again.
Jam it back in, in the dark.
