MAN, I want this leaked SO bad.
It had better not be a DVD9, or I'll cry (I can only burn single-layer). Jam it back in, in the dark. |
The torrent's for the actual JP game. I'm burning a copy I downloaded right about now, I'll have to get back to you guys about the game. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
I want more tracks like this. How ya doing, buddy? |
I have a slimline + Flip-Top replacement lid + Swap Magic.
It's what I use for all my burned games (including most recently FFXII), and it works great. The Flip-Top takes about 20-30 minutes to get installed, it's kinda tricky setting up the proper springs and metal bits, but it's very useful. It essentially puts a circular hatch on the top of the lid so you can swap discs without triggering the "open lid" alert. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
This is great, GREAT news. I still would have loved it stretched on my HDTV, but having true 16:9 is excellent. Most amazing jew boots |
Stop repeating yourself. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
If you're talking about "Optimize," then you're wrong. That's also the American spelling. If you're talking about "Defense," then you're wrong. That's also the American spelling. If you're talking about "Magick," then you're also wrong. That's the way that FFXII spells it. Although, I could see how this screen would make a European go crazy with all the slight spelling changes. More like spelling "errour," am I right? Jam it back in, in the dark. |
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
This is freaking incredible, I can't describe how excited I am to have it leaked this early!
AND I'm not ripping off Square-Enix, because I'm still buying the collector's edition at launch. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
You either need a mod chip or a disc-swapping system like Swap Magic (which is what I use) with a flip-top case mod. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
Geez, Soldier, you pulled the same crap with AC and Dirge of Cerberus (the "I'm not going to do this early, I need to have my first virgin playthrough be the best it possibly can in tip-top audio/visual, etc..."). No, we can't merge the two threads together later because the posts would go between one another and make no sense. If anyone wants to spoil stuff, put it in spoiler tags, I don't see why it'd have to be a new thread. I was speaking idiomatically. |
I've played for about 3:30 hours and it's living up to all of my expectations.
The voice acting is still incredible, and it looks great in widescreen. I'm addicted to the license system, and I try to steal from every enemy to harvest sellable items. The main story is excellent, very mature and emotional. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
FFX feels like an anime. FFXII feels like Shakespeare (mixed with Star Wars). Most amazing jew boots |
Plus, why not spend some of those LP on augment squares (HP+50/more potent magic/+1 gambit slot/-10% magic cost/etc...)? What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
First, be sure to enable "recall" or whatever in the options instead of "reset" so that you can easily select the same skill over and over in combat without having to move up and down in the menu. What I do is set everyone up with: Ally: <60% health -- cure Foe: Party leader's target -- attack Foe: closest enemy -- attack I run around, then when I see an enemy's lifebar from far away, I go into the menu and select steal, Vaan automatically runs toward the enemy. If it fails, I just mash on the X button to go through the same menus. In the meantime, my other party members make quick work of the enemy, and I'm guaranteed not to die since everyone knows cure. This set-up works at least at the lower levels (1-20). Jam it back in, in the dark. |
I heard that the Japanese dub was rather dull, actually. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
That way, they will automatically attack the enemy you're heading towards, and just in case they start attacking randomly in a group of enemies, they'll make sure to attack YOUR target in the end. Most amazing jew boots |
That sounds like a big trade-off for money. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
You get 1 LP for every monster. If there's a particularly big monster like a T-Rex or something, you'll get 2 LP. Bosses give 5+ LP.
If you're trying to gain LP quickly, you're probably better off fighting a whole bunch of weak enemies rather than strong ones, because they'll all worth the same. Remember, everyone earns LP, even if they're not in your party at the moment (however if they're KO'ed they don't earn exp or LP). Later on you'll be able to buy something called a Golden amulet at stores (4500 gil each) which doubles your LP earning. I've equipped it on everyone and licenses are going a lot faster. Everyone has their 3 quickenings and I'm trying to get all the augmentations (HP+ and speed bonuses). I was speaking idiomatically. |
There are 18 quickening spots on the license board (and some are easier to get to than others). To find them without looking at an FAQ, you can just run the cursor over each spot on the board. Even though it won't say the name of the skill you can unlock, it will say the license point requirement and the type (sword, augment, technick, quickening, etc...). That way you'll always know where to take your path to get to a quickening.
2 are usually positioned at the end of a particular path (at the far end of the magic path, the technick path, etc...). I sent each character down a path and had them learn all the closest ones they could. You don't have to worry about permanently messing the board up by having one character take a quickening, because you can get all 18 anyway if you spend the necessary LP. Now Esper Summons, that's a different story, but it's not that important either since I heard they're not that powerful in the end-game anyway. I'm just going to give 1 esper to each person down the line and repeat as necessary until I have all 13. Most amazing jew boots |
Sell all loot except for: -Teleport Stones -Gysahl Greens -Snake skin (that you get from the Nidhogg quest, but it's not too important if you sell it, it's just used in a quest to get a normal item you could buy later) FELIPE NO |
From all my research at the gamefaqs boards, you should be able to sell essentially everything (loot) because over time it will unlock bazaar items for you to buy. Some people are worried about not trading in rare items until they have all the items to unlock the bazaar item, but I doubt you need to do that.
I'm 99% sure that the game tracks which items you sell throughout the whole game. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
