While I love most of it, someone please tell me this is the Japanese release list only:

Quote:
  • The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
  • Wii Sports (including boxing and bowling to round out tennis, golf, and baseball)
  • WarioWare
  • Wii Play
  • Red Steel
  • SD Gundam Revolution
  • Tamagotchi
  • Ennichi no Tastsujin (a drum game, along the lines of Taiko Drum Master)
  • Trauma Center: Second Opinion
  • Elebits
  • Necro-nesia
  • Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz
  • Super Swing Golf Pangya
  • Wing Island (demoed at E3 2006, the "plane game")
  • Kororinpa (a Marble Madness-type game of some sort)
  • Machariku Domino (a domino game)
Sausage.
They'll be getting no Raving Rabbits, or the chance to roam around with big damn trucks?

Well, put Wii Play on my Must Have List for release! Duckhaaaawnd!

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I wasn't sure if I'd really want to get Excite Truck, but I must say there's no return by now.

I'm getting slightly more interested in Project H.A.M.M.E.R.
Anyone else having an eye on this title, and why?
The play-style seems like that of Raving Rabbits - only more serious, with less humor and no mini-games, no?

I'm with BM on this one, the price is pretty fair.

While they might recycle the some bits from the GameCube it is, as far as I'm concerned, because they already exceeded the time and cost of a new system.
Who knows just how much development that's gone into this technology?
It really doesn't matter if it costs them only a cent to produce the system now - they must harvest for the profitless lost hours of making a system also.
I don't know ofcause how much effort has gone into this, but I think it's worth taking into consideration, before stating that they are also vampires besides them being a company that must make profit to survive.

As for packing Wii Sports with the bundle? It maybe cheap, but I believe it might also a stunt to get more people's attention. Now that it will actually be out there, it will also be played.
This might gain more general interest than from the kid who only bought "Zelda".

But yeah, they should totally sell the Wiimote and nunchuck together for a 50, as many games will use this combination =/

I was speaking idiomatically.

Yeah, you can thank the EU taxes for this. Nintendo will probably be gaining the same amount of profit pr. console.
Damn, I can't even remember when I've bought a game in Europe last. It's just cheaper from the US, adding shipping costs and all =/

I'd still like some official word if it's still possible too hook the damn thing up to a monitor though.

Ah hell, there'll be enough time to save up for a TV anyway, while I wait for the black Wii to get its fat ass up on the shelves...

I'm not going to. This console is either going to support it, or I'll buy a TV.

Been there done that - I even had several vga-boxes, and they're not worth it unless you get up in prices where I'd rather buy a TV anyway.

Thanks - it wasn't supposed to be read so harsh. I must have been in a somewhat complaining mood.

Now that I've been looking around for TV's, I never thought so much about how important size might be for the Wii.
Yeah, they say it works with all types and all sizes, but imagine playing Wii Sports, that require some amount of space, five feet from the TV - to be able to see anything on a small screen.
Also, some of the dudes from either IGN or Gamespot said that it felt better playing Wii at some distance.

Now I'm trying to figure out if 26" is enough - as I don't have much room for anything bigger.
Has this crossed anyone's mind?

Kilroy, at what distance were you playing from the TV?

If you need some amount of space between you and the screen for some games to feel good, I think it's essential information for choosing the right size of TV.

Yeah, kinda sucks if so - but maybe it's just personal preference.
In IGN Weekly Episode 23 he says he's more comfortable from farther away.

Oh how much for the 2gb SD card and what TV and how much? =o
I remember, and I've pondered reluctantly back and forth. =D

I chose the cheapest Kingston 2gb I could find because speed isn't much of an issue to me.
So ~ $37, which is pretty cheap over here. Done deal.

My TV adventure was a whole other story though, but I think I found what I've been looking for.
- I wanted HD, since yeah... future.
- I decided for 32" so distance won't be an issue.
- I wanted none of the contrast issues on most LCD's.

All of this in one package? Could this possibly be expensive

No.

I found out that Philips and Samsung has made a CRT alternative. <3 CRT for all of the obvious reasons.
The Philips 32PW9551 is the better of the two, and is labeled "HD prepared" which means absolutely dick, but the dot pitch and geometry is so fine that the resulting picture of a HD source (through the TV's HDMI port, yeah!), can can actually compete with the clarity and detail of some of the better HD-TV's out there.

Obvious cons: Big as hell (about 50cm deep). The picture will never be as fine as LCD ofcause, only damn close.

But the pros: The depth of CRT + only ~ $853.

I think it might have another product number than 32PW9551 outside of Europe, as most of the googles I get are German/French/Spanish.
But you can read a more in-depth test here, for all the things I have failed to say/understand.
Just remember to babelfish it. German -> English

Gods noooo, you're not implying that fps works better with a regular controller?

I shiver every single time someone types the common delusional lie onto the internet, that fps's on consoles got playable after Halo.
That game was playable only once it was portet to PC.
The controls in Golden Eye sucked too. Best game ever. Controls still sucked.

If the wiimote can't muster fps, the mouse is still the only usable device for this genre.

Yeah, just read that somewhere. What the fuck is wrong with these people?
There's been nothing but trouble with getting the GameCube component, and I'm not even sure you can get one here EU at all without ebay.
Now they will force the consumers to face the same problem all over again, what the hell?

They better have a solution for Europe this time around.

When regular Joe gets home and gets his Wii up and running, he will wonder why it's not widescreen like the one in the store, and he will want it to. He will return to the store and get "hurr, order something somewhat somewhere on them intarwebs", and he won't.

Point is, if N had them hanging right there in the store, they would sell.
Consumer: What's this do then?
Store: Better pic.
Consumer: $

This seems more like N has to prove some point or something. YOU NOT CARE. THIS NOT NEW ERA!
Though I don't think it's even possible to get a 4:3 TV over here, if you can even get a widescreen without HD anymore...

Aw that sucks Infernal, that was your nr. 1 launch game =(

I'm at a loss regarding what to pick too. The TV I wanted is out of stock for an indefinite period of time, so I'll have to double the dough to get the same quality in a LCD.
I was originally going to get Wii Play, Excite Trucks, Red Steel, Twilight Princess and Elebits + essentially 3 extra complete remotes.

Now I think it's down to Wii Play (for instant multiplayer fun). If I'm really really lucky, I'll sneak in Red Steel too =o
Hell, that ought to be sufficient for December anyway...
