I've been a soccer player since I was four years old. I pretty much stopped once I got to college, because I wasnt motivated enough to play here. Plus, I wanted to actually remember college as a time I had spare time at points, and being an athlete probably wouldnt have allowed for much of that.

For almost my entire soccer career, I was goalie, and I can remember exactly when the transition from field player to goalie happened. I was on my Spring U12 team, and Coach Levington was having everyone try being in goal while the rest of the team took shots on them. I was TERRIFIED, especially because the very first person in line to take a shot on me was Ryan, the coach's son (which, in my experiences, the coach's kid is always one of the best on the team). This kid had a fucking rocket for a foot. It must have looked pretty pathetic/horrible, but the kid kicked, and it basically went straight towards me. All I did was stick my hands straight out and the ball bounced off them, and rolled away. But the way the coach praised me for it, it gave me such confidence that I kept with it, and became first goalie over the rest of the team. For pretty much the rest of my soccer career, I was in the net.

The only exception was on my high school's team, where their goalie was a sophomore when I came in as a freshman, so of course, I never got any time in the net. I was moved to right wing back again.

I played softball for a season when my mom got tired of dropping me off at a different park than my sisters. I hated it.

As for now... I'm not nearly as athletically active, but every now and then, I pick up a frisbee for a game of ultimate.

Jam it back in, in the dark.
