Try uninstalling the device in Device Manager and restarting.
You might need to do a firmware upgrade on the drive, but, in my experience, that error is caused by the drive temporarily fucking up. Allowing Windows to reinstall it should fix the issue. Most amazing jew boots |
Plus, the drive would probably work with a Windows install due to its lack of dependency on the installed SPTI/ASPI layer. A firmware update, then, may be necessary. (Maybe the drive has partially died >_>) Unless you have Roxio 4.0 and earlier installed on the machine (assuming that it's Windows XP). Now that I think of it, check to see that the drive's "Enable CD recording on this drive option is checked": Right-Click on the drive in My Computer->Properties->Recording Tab->check the "Enable CD Recording On This Drive" box if it is not checked. There's nowhere I can't reach.
