As for you, devilmaycry: Sometimes, the slowdown is caused by crap that happens in Windows after installing/uninstalling programs.
The typical "solution" is to clean up the hard drive (formatting) and installing Windows and its updates from scratch.

Also, defragment hard drive(s) - the disc head doesn't exactly like to dance samba when reading files.
