to buy or not to buy?

How many other poeple here buy thier anime?
i do, and im damn proud of it to!
Yes i download stuff, but if a series just completely turns me off i can just delete it, i have never bout a series with out at least first previewing it, well expt for my box of Ruin Soldier, but i go that for 15 or so.
I buy everything i really enjoyed, and will have to buy Eureka 7 and FMA when the boxes for them both come out, even though the english audio sucks....

Dont just vote, explain yourselves!
so how do you get your anime, do you download then buy, only download or only buy? and why do you do it this way?

Jam it back in, in the dark.

That's not to say I buy shows totally blind. I read up on them and stuff, and if I find something interesting I'll get it eventually, but I'll never preview it first. And for downloads, if the show seems good, but not purchase-worthy, I'll just download the entire series, without even considering buying it.
Have you have a good experience with this, because rcently there have been alot of shows that LOOKed and SOUNDED like that could have been increadable but after i downloaded and watched desided that well, i wouldnt by that even bootleg. Although, if i get through a show say ~13/26 episodes and i really really like it, i will say i stop watching it and by it if its out already, but i keep watching if its not out, or even licenced. And then buy it when its on dvd, and i find it cheap...ie Cromarite High, Wolf's Rain, Now and Then Here and There, Nadesico and Saikano(but even if i hadnt seen any of it, i would have picked it up condidering i go it for 19.99 ) but i was thinking about buying many things, Speed Grapher looked cool, and it became...not as great as i had hoped, Trinity Blood was another Gonzo ohno...these im glad i downloaded, because if i would have seen trinity blood in stores before seeing any of it, i would have picked it up, and been disappointed. Just wondering, bout how many of the series that you have gotten have been somewhat disappointing?

And Conversly, have you ever downloaded somthing and said, I HAVE TO HAVE THIS ON DVD?...thats what most if not all of my anime is from, i just fell completly inlove and couldnt let go...hints why i have to buy: FMA, Fafner, and Eureka 7 as soon as boxes come out for them(if you havnt looked into those check, they where/are great!)

How ya doing, buddy?

I'm completely against pirating for profit, but if i would have put all the episodes i had onto DVD it would have cost me a hell of alot more than i paid.
You know, since you download the stuff anyway, you could just make a dvd-video yourself. You know, you can always just send money to the company too if you really want to support them and cant find the 'proper box set' and make it yourself :-p. I did that with cartoon networks Robot Chicken shorts that aired last year. Theres all kindsa ways to do it, AND there are also divx players that will play cd/dvds with divx avi files on them, some of them will also play xvid too, so there are a TON of oppsions out there opposed to supporting the scum of the earth to help them make more scum. The only times i have gotten bootleg is, before i had a DVD burned, and the bastered said legit on the ebay page, and sent me a bootleg copy, i thurally sent him through the wash, and noticifed just about everybody involved(Bandia can be evil people), and got my money back. But there is always a way, but the MOMENT you give or sell one of them to your friends/family/anyone you also become one of those scumbags too! downloading and turning it into your own dvd is no diffirent than just download it, you are just changing the form in which the data is in.
And remeber people 90% of the time if it is in a fold out box or is only 3 dvds (~26 episodes) it is bootleg.
Just check out www.animenewsnetwork.com or www.animenfo.com to see who is dubbing it, go to their website and LOOK for the release dates/number of DVDs in the box, because there are some exeptions to the 3dvd and folding box rule, but not many. Most of the time, if the whole box is amazingly cheap...check into it alittle more before buying it, its probly bootleg

Anything you find that looks like anything at www.importanime.com IS BOOTLEG, that is a site for BOOTLEG anime that is all it carries, and almost 99% of time time if it says import, R0 and and it goes on about playing in anything it is bootleg.

Most amazing jew boots
