Well, if you stick with the first 2 arcs, its more respectful, the last ark, the Meiji era arc is :/ starts to get abit too fantasy for the taste of the rest of the show if you ask me. if you wana watch something, about it,go for the Samurai X OVA Trust and Betrayal, that is WONDERFUL, not too cartoonly at all. In fact it is very adult.

They still air on tv, and you can find a list of what ep are airing of all anime at ANN you can probably find torrents for them...somewhere...

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I guess it really doesn't matter anyway, as I can get the individual volumes for about $25 less than the boxset. I don't think any extras are worth that much to me anyway.
Where is that, i know at Deepdiscountdvd.com you can pic up the box for like 60 total, where can you pic all of it up for less than that?

I was speaking idiomatically.

I cant say which i perfer, because some mangas,(IE Escaflowne and Nadesico) SUCK compaired to the anime, then there are the ones like RahXephon, Wolf's Rain and Fullmetal Alchemist that are almost completely diffirent stories, but BOTH very good in their own right, and then their are those how have a very similar story, ie Evangelion, first few books of Trigun and FMA which are great, even though it is the same story are WONDERFUL. It all depends on the anime/manga

OHOHOH, it hurts me to hear that some one really believes like my 2 fav series are rip off of one of the other. RahXephon is similar in some pretinceses, but plot once some things at the begining play out, NOTHING alike expt for the fact that the main charaters are kinda emo and pilot a mech, they are VERY diffirent, VERY. I dont want to, and cant(because its been too long since i have seen both of them) to say the diffirences, but i watched them back to back last summer and found little tidbits where similar, but over each was is own very seperate being

RahXephon and Evangelion are both quite good, so if you ever do get a free moment - and you feel like giving Rah another chance - I'd recommend picking it back up. If not, then have fun watching the umpteenth re-release special limited edition Director's Cut volume 245 of Evangelion. XD
HEY, its only the 10th ani. special and its ONLY $250! and its only coming out in like a month o.o...at least hes not like Rei and has like 8 copies already.
and yeah, there is no reason to stop a series midway through, you should finish it, so you know iff you accualy hate it or not, because the fact that you didnt fnish it means your oppinon is only on half of the series, which not near as accuart as watching all of it. i mean, just look at how diffirent eva would have been if it ended at ep 24? its not like anything 'happens' persay in the last 2 episodes. this one has some unexpected twists and at midde way through becomes much more intiresting...you havnt even reallly meet Bähbem yet, creepy old man.

There are a select few great anime, but to be considered the greatest you need to be something special.

Anyway, I have the 10th Aniversary edition of Eva preorder from discountanimedvd.com for $187.48. Why? I really don't know. Maybe, it's the fanboy in me.
RahXephon is deffently one of the better series out there you should really just take the time to see it through to the end, it goes, it a slightly diffirent direction at the end although you can parallel most of the charaters to eva
and on another note you wana save $20 cancle that preorder and go to http://www.deepdiscountdvd.com/dvd.cfm?itemID=ADV014562 its like 166 there :3 where im grabbing it from...gata research dude gata do it, otherwise you will pay too much for somthing. which reminds me make sure next time your looking into buying somthing to check out the Buyer's Guide to Anime/Manga/Etc. (plus SALES updates) thread good stuff

Ah, kinda foshi. The before series OVA consistes of 4 30 mins episodes, and the last OVA is like 1 hour, which takes place AFTER teh series, for those who dont know and you can pick them up at DDDVD for less than 30 USD
It was renamed SAMURAI X, for legal reason(Rurouni Kenshin is property of animeworks). and there is a SAMURAI X movie, that takes place in the middle of the seires. after the Legend of Kyoto arc.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Is anyone here a Slayers fan ? The only Slayers anime I've seen was the Motion Picture and I loved it. How's the series and by what order do they go by ? I'm thinking of getting the 1st season so far. Looks like Funimation's responsible for this anime and they aren't so bad anymore.

EDIT: Nevermind. Just found out what the order was. However I would like to know if anyone else loves the series. Captain Tylor was pretty good. Im keeping the OVA on hiatus for good reasons.>=/
I love the TV series slayers, the last one there are some sketchy episodes, but other than that, i enjoyed it completely.
I also have all of the OVAs and Movies, The OVAs come first, then the movies(Motion picture, Return, Great and then Gorgeous), and then Slayers Royal(the games) and THEN the tv show starts, going Slayers, Slayers Next, Slayers Try, and the last movie is Slayers Premium which takes place at the end of the entire series, and sadly has been the Slayers to date.
To understand the Series you do not need to see the OVAs or the Movies, Naga is not pressent after the Video games, no reason is givin, i think it would have been funny to have her show up in the series some where, but oh well

Map of story

Naga.. lol. She was like my most favorite female character back in early 2k's . So I guess I have to see the OVA's first. It always did bother me as to why Naga was never around in the TV series'. Instead I catch an old preview of the first season in my Poltergeist Report vhs tape where there's that lousy blonde haired dude and some KFC lookin character.

According to ANN , the movie is the first of everything. Good thing for me . It's just too bad that Naga isn't around in s1-3. Guess I'll grab the series first since Funimation aquired rights to it and they supposedly remastered season 1 and 2 along with 3 which is coming feb2k8. Which means they'll gain rights to the OVA's and the movie in the future.

Thanks for the info! Appreciate it much =]
Acccualy ADV owns the rights to the movies/OVAs and they recently rereleased them all in 2 little slim packs, a Movie box, and an OVA box, all 5.1 audio(in english and the best they where giving for Japanese, either 2.0 or 5.1)
