I'll probably pick this up, though maybe a little later after its release. I liked the original on PS1 and I'm also glad this isn't just a port of the DS version; I wasn't impressed with the graphical updates or the music updates and the upped difficulty just kicked my ass.

I like how the graphics are getting the same treatment as FFI did (and I'm assuming FFII). Also hoping they redo the music again, even though it probably doesn't need it.

I'll also be picking it up for After Years being on there, I've been wanting to try that for a while now. It still baffles me on how they could have a sequel for FF4 when the first game concluded rather well.

I'm starting to have a little hope that Final Fantasy 6 will get the same treatment soon.
I'd be surprised if they didn't do 5 first.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

When the game was re-released as FF Chronicles for the PS1 in America it had the original difficulty from the Japanese SNES version of the game. The DS version was more difficult for me, though part of that might have been due to ignoring the augment system or whatever it was called. When I was at the final boss of the PS1 version I think I was around levels 55-60, but in the DS version I was around level 70.

There's nowhere I can't reach.
