If there's a N64 game besides Goldeneye that needs to be released on the Virtual Console, it has to be Bomberman 64. How ya doing, buddy? |
Classic fans, you might be in for a treat. This week on Virtual Console US (12/31/07):
Top Hunter (NeoGeo) Light Crusader (Genesis) Bubble Bobble (NES) I've heard a lot of people really like the last one. XD I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
It'll probably be a long time since they finally released Super Mario Bros. 3 back in November and they went ahead and released Super Mario Bros. 2 (JPN) as an import. I'll go ahead and guess they'll up the price from the normal 800 since it has multiple Mario classics. Actually, they still used those graphics in Super Mario Advance 4.
What they should do is release a game like Sonic Mega Collection Plus for the Mario games and maybe even include Hotel Mario. XD I was speaking idiomatically. |
Wait a minute...only two games this week? Well there was that one time when a Zelda game was the only one released, so which one counts as two games?
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
Seeing as how they released Mario 3 to help spark interest towards Mario Galaxy, I don't see why they wouldn't do the same for Smash.
FELIPE NO |
Never played either of these games, but why only two games? There are so many games in the libraries of all the classic consoles that could be released, games that have already been rated by the ESRB.
What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
Jam it back in, in the dark. |
I'm not horribly excited about Ninja Gaiden III, partly because it truly was the hardest out of the trilogy. They took away your shadow clones (and that was a damn useful technique in the 2nd one) and replaced it with your sword having a longer reach. Honestly, what good did that do? Plus, the story wasn't as good as the 2nd one either. I played the game on an emulator, so I save stated the hell out of that game...I couldn't imagine how hard it would've been for people who actually owned it unless they had a Game Genie.
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
So we've gone down to two games per week on the Virtual Console. Am I the only one seeing something wrong with this? At least the quality has gone up from the games because now I'm hearing titles and mascots I'm familiar with each week.
Plus some of those games are hard to come by legally. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
You'd think they would've at least released Super Smash Bros. as a promotion for Brawl. Also, have all of the masterpiece demos on Brawl been released on the VC? If not, then there's your VC release list for next Monday.

This is good news because the Genesis versions of Earthworm Jim 1 and 2 are the only ones I've played. Looks like the Virtual Console might finally be getting some good games on the market.
I was speaking idiomatically. |
Well, there are no VC updates this week due to the debut of WiiWare in the US. WiiWare has been released with 6 games available.
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
Son of a bitch, I knew they would start doing this. 3 games released this week on the Wii Shop Channel, 2 on WiiWare and 1 on Virtual Console.
The virtual console game this week is SKYKID on the NES. How ya doing, buddy? |
I'm not taking anything away from the WiiWare games, I just think it's stupid that the weekly releases went from 3 VC games (with the occasional 1 or 2), to 2 VC games, and now it's gone down to 1. I know it's only this week I'm complaining about, but the fact that they're releasing WiiWare games along with the VC games and calling that "There's your 3 games for the week" just baffles me. Once again, not taking anything away from the WiiWare games but you'd think that WiiWare would be a separate category from the Virtual Console like the Wii Channels are.
I understand there's licensing issues with some of these titles, but what is Nintendo trying to pull? All the games in Nintendo's library whether they're good or shitty, and now all they're going to do is release one VC per week? However, the only thing I can see happening with this is if the Virtual Console is a continuation on Nintendo's next-gen consoles (whenever that may be), so that's how they're making the Virtual Console last longer. Also, I know a few weeks ago there was a string of a couple of weeks where some fan favorites got released like River City Ransom and Double Dragon, so maybe this is a drought or something. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
Well it's Monday again and this week's Virtual Console release in the US are two import titles for the NES, both for 600 points:
Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa Dig Dug Wait a minute...the first Dig Dug for the NES was never released in America? Wow, I can't believe that. How ya doing, buddy? |
This week on Virtual Console US (6/23):
Alex Kidd in Miracle World (Master System) 500 points BURNING FIGHT (NEOGEO) 900 points Gyrostar(WiiWare) 700 points Have fun people! Most amazing jew boots |
I just think we're sick of Nintendo not giving us the quality Virtual Console releases we know it can give us. Earthbound, Terranigma, Secret of Mana...I've never played any of those games but I can relate with the fact that I look forward to the VC releases every Monday only to be disappointed.
My Super Nintendo died a month ago and I wanted to send it to Nintendo for repair. Here's the message they give you:
Many of the classic games are reappearing on the newer systems, huh? I'm guessing 11 pages of Virtual Console titles count as many. Don't get me wrong, there are classic titles on there but not everyone is going to be happy about it. Most amazing jew boots

One game this week for VC: Fatal Fury 2 for the NEOGEO. If you want this game, it's 900 points down the drain.
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
This week's releases: one for VC and, surprisingly, one for WiiWare. For VC:
King of the Monsters - Neo Geo Cough up 900 points for this VC release. I was speaking idiomatically. |
So...how would we go about playing the parts involving Mikey and the final stage where we do battle with one of three wizards?
Homebrew channel is installed, trying to figure out some things but it's not that bad. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
