This week on Virtual Console US (8/6/07)

Adventures of Lolo (NES)
Galaga '90 (TG16)
Wave Race 64 (N64)

Wave Race? Damn. Never did own it, but had fun playing it.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

This week's

Cratermaze - TurboGFX
Shining in the Darkness - Sega Genesis
Metroid - NES

I never played the first Metroid so...maybe I should get it? I do have 600 points left.
If you're looking for difficulty and a classic game, go with Metroid on the NES. I never beat it, never could figure out where to go.

If you're looking for something easier and need a sense of direction, get the remake on GBA called Metroid: Zero Mission.

As far as Super Metroid goes, I've never played it myself. However, I've heard it's one of the best games the SNES had to offer.

As for the other two games that came out this week, no clue about either of them. All I know is Shining in the Darkness is an RPG.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Never played anything from the Shinobi series so I really don't care about that one. Super Metroid, I'll download so I can see why everyone likes it so much.

chato, thanks for taking over. I won't be able to do these VC Mondays much anymore, because I don't get home till 6pm.

Super C - NES
Breath of Fire 2 - SNES
Ghouls-n-Ghosts - Genesis
Three more that I've never played. Well I guess after Metroid and Super Metroid for the past two weeks, the VC was bound to go downhill again.

How ya doing, buddy?

This week on Virtual Console US 9/3/07:

Landstalker: The Treasures of King Nole (Genesis)
Donkey Kong Jr. Math (NES)
Bonk 3: Bonk's Big Adventure (TG16)
Adventure Island (NES)

Out of that list, I've only tried Donkey Kong Jr. Math. Is Adventure Island supposed to be good?

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

This week on Virtual Console US (9/10/07):

NES Play Action Football (NES)
Neutopia II (TG16)
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (Genesis)

Sonic 3 is a definite download for me. The other two, never played either of them. However, looking at the icon for Neutopia II it's almost reminding me of the title screen for Zelda II.

IT IS A DEFINITE DOWNLOAD MUST PAY 15 BUCKS TOTAL FOR SOMETHING I HAVE 3 TIMES OVER.

Fucking Christ, Nintendo/Sega.
Yet it's the same way with games like Super Mario Bros. and Zelda. I haven't downloaded it yet, I gotta add some Wii points since Super Metroid took the last of it.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

Aside from better graphics and added extra music from the SNES version, I'd say not that much.

This week on Virtual Console US (10/15/07):

Gate of Thunder (TG16)
Metal Marines (SNES)
Ninja Gaiden II: The Dark Sword of Chaos (NES)

Awesome, Ninja Gaiden II was without a doubt the best of the trilogy on NES.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

For anyone who cares, the TG16 game is Power Golf. I can't believe Nintendo released Super Mario Bros. 3, I thought they would've waited at least another year or two but since Mario Galaxy is around the corner I guess it isn't that surprising.

Sonic, remember too that SMB3 will also help hype Super Mario Galaxy like they did with Metroid.
Honestly, I don't think either Metroid Prime 3 or Super Mario Galaxy need the hype. Mario Galaxy will sell itself as it has been given the title of "first true sequel to Super Mario 64." Metroid Prime 3, although I have not gotten a hold of it yet, I have planned on buying since the first two were so damn good. However, your logic makes sense and that means that Super Smash Bros. (N64) will probably be out in February (unless Brawl gets pushed back again). Same goes for Super Mario Kart.

If they made the Wii Zapper compatible with VC games, the first one out would be Duck Hunt. Why lie?

That's a brilliant idea, hopefully Nintendo will follow suit. There's more games out there that are compatible with the Zapper and the Super Scope than I thought. Speaking of the Super Scope, there was a game that was bundled with it with 6 minigames. That'll probably be the third game.

I still have my Super Scope, but it stopped working years ago.

Didn't realize the Genesis had a light gun, but I guess it makes sense. However, the one that comes with the Menacer and the one titled "Super Scope 6" which was bundled with the Super Scope look to be two different games.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

This week on Virtual Console US (11/19/07):

Wrecking Crew (NES)
Super Air Zonk (TG16)
Sonic 3D Blast (Genesis)

*sigh* I'm not too thrilled with 3D Blast. I'm kinda glad the VC updates are weak since there have been and still to come some good Wii games coming out this month.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

This week on Virtual Console US (11/26/07):

Double Dribble (NES)
Ecco Jr. (Genesis)
Vegas Stakes (SNES)

Ecco Jr. is the only game I've played for the Ecco series. I first played it and beat it back when the Sega Channel was around. It's a pretty fun game, but as for whether it's worth 800 points or not...that's up to you.

How ya doing, buddy?

This week on Virtual Console US (12/3/07):

Zanac (NES)
The Dynastic Hero (TG16)
Eternal Champions (Genesis)

The only one I've heard about out of those three is Eternal Champions. I heard it's quite good. Hope you guys are satisfied with this week's release.

Oh SNAP!...literally. This week on Virtual Console US (12/10/07):

Baseball Stars 2 (NeoGeo)
Ghosts 'n Goblins (NES)
Pokemon Snap (N64)

Man, I remember when I rented Snap at Blockbuster and printed those stickers out a week later when I had to return the game. Good memories, pretty decent game. The others I've never played.

Ahaha, those sticker machines cost an arm and a leg. What was it, like 5 bucks or more for a sticker sheet? So bogus.
Heh, so 5-6 bucks to rent the game and another 5 for the sticker sheet. You were also given a card to insert into that machine, like an id type of thing. I've still got my Pikachu card somewhere. XD

Better than Chrono Trigger? Well, you've gotten me curious...I'll have to add that to the list of games I need to play.

This week on Virtual Console US (12/17/07):

Alien Storm (Genesis)
Cybernator (SNES)

Wow, so it was 5 VC games last Christmas and not 4? On top of that, they seem like good games on that week as well. Dunno if we can expect something similar this year, though.

This Christmas week on Virtual Console US (12/24/07):

Rolling Thunder 2 (Genesis)
Blades of Steel (NES)
Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble (SNES)

The only one I've played out of those is DKC3, and while it's fun it's not as good as the first two. Still, it's a decent game.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Here's the thing, you have to watch what you say around here. If you say certain games suck without ever playing them, people will go apeshit on you.

I've got to agree though, I was expecting some big titles today like Super Mario Bros. 3. I'd be surprised if they did another release tomorrow, but I doubt it.

There's nowhere I can't reach.
