Ok, I realize that this is a really old question, but I didn't ask it, hoping to find the answer out sometime in the near future, but I never did.
What happened to Darrell Sutter? He just disappeared from his head coach position in Calgary. Was he fired because the team didn't do so well in the '06 playoffs? Or is it some other issue? And where did this Playfair guy come from? Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() |

I can't believe it. With the win over Florida, the Canucks increased their winning streak to seven games! Second largest streak in franchise record I believe. What really pleased me was that Nazzy got on that scoreboard (finally).
In order to keep it up though, they must get more wins in regulation time. I don't think Luongo can keep saving their asses like that, night after night. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? ![]() |

Man, that sure was one hell of a game. I've never seen the Canucks play that kind of hockey for a long time. They were getting to all the loose pucks, hitting hard, passing quickly and winning all the fights up against the boards. If they continue to play that kind of hockey, they'll get a playoff spot for sure. You forgot Bieksa! 13 points in 13 games ![]() What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? ![]() |
Don't forget that Calgary is still two games behind Vancouver, and only a few points back. They may be in a little slump now (with their road record continuing to decline), but they're a good team, and can bounce back anytime. Just look at the Canucks. It only took a week for them to go from ball licking to ass kicking.
Unless the Canucks remain somewhat consistent, they better be careful, because any of the teams in the Northwest Division have the talent to skyrocket in the standings, and take away Vancouver's leading position. Especially Calgary. Note: Rory Fitzpatrick scored his first as a Canuck last night versus the Sens. The game winning goal in a 2-1 Canuck victory! Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() |
Also the Canucks lost to the Sens in a shootout last night The Sens scored with 40 seconds left in the third period to tie it up, and destroyed Sabourin's hope for getting his first NHL win. And Naslund missed his potential game winning shot in the shootout...big surprise...he still isn't shooting it the way he used to.There's nowhere I can't reach. ![]() |
Malkin isn't massive, but can certainly throw a few punches without getting carried away in a stretcher. Even Crosby, who's under 200 pounds gets under the skin of some players, and isn't afraid to play dirty once in a while. Take Malkin and Ovechkin for example. Sure they're great players, but if they want to take their skill to another level, they need to learn to fend for themselves once in a while, just to show that they're not afraid to play with the big boys. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]() |
Touche (with acute accent on the "e"). You're correct. I totally forgot about that :P
But even so...wouldn't it be prime to see Malkin or Ovechkin go at it? Just once? I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? ![]() |

Canucks beat the Oilers 5-2, with the Sedin twins lighting up the show. Henrick got a few assists, and Daniel got an empty net goal to record a well earned hat trick. They are now tied for first in the north western division with Calgary.

This is a strange coincidence.... Simon's stick swing happened on the three year anniversary of Bertuzzi's cheap shot on Moore.

(moral of the story: A retarded comment deserves a retarded reply.) In other news, the Canucks beat the Sharks 2-1 in overtime, earning Luongo his 39th win in one season with the Canucks, beating the previous record held by Kirk McLean. Congrats, Lug! I was hoping for more intense match to be brought on by the top team in the west, but they were only held to 13 shots in the last two periods. With that win, the Canucks are only 4 points behind the Predators for top dog in the west, and it was Luongo's 4th shutout this season. Seems kind of low though, I thought he had more. There's nowhere I can't reach. ![]()

The Canucks clinched a playoff berth tonight, with a 3-0 win over the Avalanche. Since they've earned a spot, I wonder if they'll play Sabourin for the majority of the remaining games, and rest Luongo so he's fresh come playoff time.
This is the clubs' 46th win this season, tying the season record for wins by the Canucks (acheived when Pat Quinn was coach.) ![]() This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]() |
As expected, the third Dallas vs/ Canuck game is another close one. Only 1-1 through 2 full periods. Bulis scored the equilizer, giving Hanson an assist and his first NHL point. I can never tell who will come out victorious in this matchup.

Holy shit. Mitchell just saved Luongo's ass today. Third period, the Canucks have a 2-1 lead with 4 minutes left, and the puck managed to beat Luongo, and roll along the goalline before Mitchell came and batted it away. With that badass play, the Noodeheads won the game 2-1, and have a 3-1 series lead over the stars.

Here it is, boy's. Hopefully, the final game of the Dallas/Vancouver series is tonight at 7:00 p.m. (for us westerners). I'm predicting a Canuck win, considering they've got a 3-1 stranglehold on the Stars, and they've got a rowdy home crowd behind them. It's hard to be certain though, considering that the Stars will be playing their asses off in order to keep the series tight. Go 'Nucks Go!
How ya doing, buddy? ![]() |
Damn it! The Canucks just can't finish the jorb. Maybe Vingeault gave them a decent motivational speech and they'll be able to finish off this series tonight in Vancouver.
Additional Spam: They did it! Next stop Anaheim, bitches! FELIPE NO ![]()

One thing's for sure, the 'Nucks have got to step it up a notch when it comes to finishing games off. Too many close calls, and leads blown in the third period for my liking. If Luongo's healthy, Mitchell does a good job checking Selanne, and Naslund actually does something, they're home free. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? ![]() |
Well that may be it for the Predators... Nashville anyways.. The owner is contemplating selling the franchise to some guy in waterloo, who owns the Blackberry company. Seventh Canadian team anyone?
