Hell, I bought Crisisbeat for €9.95, which isn't even that cheap =/
![]() The game is a completely awful scrolling beat 'em up with completely awful controls and collision detection, but my inner wap gets a boner because they retained the Japanese dialogue. WHY THE HELL CAN'T BETTER GAMES DO THIS ;_; Not that I could really play beyond the first level because it was just that awful. I like to keep it on my shelf to remind how even I can be a complete idiot when it comes to sales (and I generally like to think I have good judgement). Then there's the camp value of course, I like to have the few oddities in my shelf, like Ephemeral Fantasia. How ya doing, buddy? ![]()

I personally wouldn't touch the PS2 version (which you obviously planned on doing), but the GC version of VJ is an awesome game. It's inventive, it's hard as fuck but still hilariously entertaining, with a bold and wonderful aesthetic design and superb controls. I guess you can get tired of it eventually, but then that will happen with any game. And when is a scrolling beat 'em up not "repetitive"? VJ certainly didn't feel tired to me, though Fire Leo makes me weep. There's nowhere I can't reach. ![]()

However likening Viewtiful Joe to more traditional scrolling beat 'em ups is pretty silly. That would be like judging Shadow of the Colossus or Super Monkey Ball purely as typical 3D platformers or judging Resident Evil 4 in comparison to normal third person action games like Max Payne or something like Syphon Filter. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]() |
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? ![]() |
How is it not judging when you claim "GC has no games worth playing"? You've obviously judged the game unplayable at that point.
