As irrelevant as story in beat 'em ups is, there always has been one in King of Fighters games (moreso than most games in the genre) that affects many of the characters, so to have one specifically left out is a strange choice.
Look at Bangai-O. The story was completely silly, but removing it from Spirits left you with a much more fractured, random experience. Great game, but even a little dialogue between stages would have added some structure. So it does make a difference, however little. Some sweetass gameplay footage from TGS. Rental, pfft. No excuses.
I've bought the few KoF PS2 releases that have come out in Europe, simply for owning them and because I'm a 2D graphics whore. KoFXII is no different :3 Though this time I ordered the US release. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
