FEZ - Cave Story 2 meets Super Paper Mario? =o

It's not really Cave Story 2, nor is it from Pixel.

But since you're here, you might as well enjoy what it actually is, which is to say a very lovely looking retro-style platformer from independent developer Kokoromi. The game recently won the award for Excellence in Visual Art at the 2008 Independent Games Festival.

Besides looking and sounding like a somewhat spiritual sequel to Cave Story, the game has a neat 2D to 3D viewpoint switching system, endearingly playing around with level design and space, in the style of Echochrome and Super Paper Mario.

Just watch the videos and you'll get it.

No idea as to how the full game will play though. Whether there will be a story and continuing structure to the whole thing or if it's just a collection of seperate levels, whether you have more things to do than just collecting those tokens and (possibly) getting to the level end. Either way it looks refreshing, cute and extremely charming.

No proper website for the game sadly, but keep an eye on the developer's blog.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Then again, if it was on PSP, it wouldn't look like that. At all. And you can always play it with a controller on a PC.

(Love the feel of this game...Qwaky's mentioning of Cave Story and Paper Mario is spot on)
That's more tactics, as simply typing Fez wouldn't catch attention at all~

There's nowhere I can't reach.

I'd just rather it be on anything but PC... even if that meant a downgrade in the visual or auditory quality. I just... don't like playing games at my desk.
I don't know why Qwarky thinks that it wouldn't look the same on PSP.
I didn't say it wouldn't look "as good" on the PSP, I said it wouldn't look like that at all. Have you seen a proper sprite based platformer on the PSP lately? They constantly go for that 3D characters on 2D movement look that Dracula X Chronicles and Ultimate Ghosts 'n Goblins do. Same applies to Crush.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
