The fact that you can set the audio to Japanese and it affects both the Rondo of Blood remake AND Symphony of the Night would be fantastic enough, but they also have Norio Wakamoto voicing Dracula, making this the second greatest PSP game ever <3
Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]()

I suppose they think it makes it easier, since she has a double jump.
I too unlocked both extra games without too much work, using Richter. Playing as Maria makes the difficulty of the rest of the game slightly more tolerable, though. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]() |
You don't need an axe, nor any item for that matter, to drop the green sack of whatever to make the platform. Just time it right when sommersaulting and you can hit it with your whip. Should be even easier with Maria.
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? ![]() |
Large part of the problem is the PSP's screen itself, though.
The refresh rate is simply not good enough, which is why I've never been too keen on watching videos on the PSP for that matter. I was speaking idiomatically. ![]() |
For me, it's often difficult to spot the tiny enemies like the little bats that come at you at some of the stages because of the blur. They appear smaller than they are because you can't clearly see the outlines.
It's all perfectly playable of course, but for such an otherwise lovely screen, the refresh rate has always been a shame since it adds an annoying ghost trail to all movement, especially dark colors on light and vice verca. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? ![]() |
Ah, so people who notice the ridiculously slow refresh rate obviously find the game too hard and blame that, but you on the other hand are good enough to play the game without problems, yet somehow GnG "isn't your style"
![]() The screen blur has always been obstructive, it simply becomes especially obstructive for games with lots of sidescrolling motion and ones that require an especially large amount of precision, such as Castlevania. I already said it's all very playable regardless, I've already gotten the true ending and the blur doesn't affect boss fights anyway since those are always mostly static screens. Ultimate Ghosts 'n Goblins had a much brighter palette and bigger characters moving about, so the blur wasn't quite as noticeable. Daxter, like a lot of 3D platformers, didn't require nearly as much precision. The fact remains Richter is a stiff mofo with a useless sommersault, and you have to learn to play with what you have. Comparing him and Maria is like comparing the movement of Suikoden 1 characters to Arc from Terranigma. FELIPE NO ![]()

I'm not even going to get into an argument about the ridiculously long and crippling pause that follows a landing from the sommersault, or the complete lack of momentum for both jumping and falling/running off ledges, both seriously marring the usefulness of the move. If you manage to use it effectively, all the more power to you. It doesn't make it any less stiff. Oh look there I went anyway. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? ![]() |
