Well, it's not like the first game is all that thrilling either.
I merely waded through it in order to get to 2, which actually was great (despite the story turning into a huge letdown towards the end). Luckily the first game relatively fast to complete, making it a short but sweetish RPG, instead of "clumsy and dull with some great unfinished ideas" that it almost was.
But then that's another Street Fighter similarity, with the very first game not being very good at all.
Only difference is Suikoden IV is a part of the series canon, while SF: The Movie is obviously not part of the main series.
Jam it back in, in the dark.
