I have question for the PSPhatcats.
I recently got my PSP back from a friend of mine and as such it's still running 3.03 OE-B. FFT requires 3.51 at least, so my question is: is 3.71m33 worth it? I see some talk about trouble with it, so would it be less of a hassle for me to just upgrade to some previous (stable, working) custom firmware instead? Which one would that be then? I just don't want to upgrade to find something that used to work on my PSP now magically won't. There's nowhere I can't reach. ![]() |
That's probably the case for the US version.
I remember trying my European version on a normal 3.50 firmware and it said I need to update, plus the UMD comes with 3.51. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]() |
Hm, curious. I'll just have to take your word on it and must have looked at the version number wrong.
Has 3.40 OE-A had compatibility/stability issues with certain emulators or sleep mode or something similar? And will I be able to directly update my 3.03 OE-B to 3.40 OE-A or do I need to do some fancy voodoo trickery and extra application hunting beforehand? I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? ![]() |
Barring the slowdown someone complained about, which may or may not be cause of the firmware.
And if there's no issues, why would you prefer 3.52 M33? I was speaking idiomatically. ![]() |
But you just said there aren't any issues
![]() See this is why I asked in the first place. There's really not that many upcoming PSP games I look forward to, so I'm in no rush to update to the latest firmwares if it means compromise or something of mine will no longer work as well. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? ![]() |
I can really only think of Goku Makaimura Kai from upcoming PSP titles, but there's no telling which firmware it'll require. Might as well 3.40 till I find out.
Thanks for the advice everyone. How ya doing, buddy? ![]() |
What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? ![]() |
And for posturing, I own two phat PSPs and neither has a single dead/stuck pixel. Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]()

I know PS3 uses FAT32 for HDD and USB sticks, so it would be logical to assume the PSP does too since the old PS3s read memory stick pro duos.
The space limit is bull though. The maximum file size on a FAT32 is 2GB yes, but I don't think it limits the stick itself to 4GB. I mean, there's official 16GB memory sticks (plus Wipeout Pulse) and I doubt even Sony is stupid enough to pull off an oversight like that. It used to be that the PSP couldn't handle memory sticks over 2GB, but that was fixed with a firmware update ages ago. If there's ever been a limit for 4GB, it's been fixed as well. Most amazing jew boots ![]()
