The genre of music definitely determines how quickly I'll grow tired of a certain song or artist. Usually, genres of music that do not involve any sort of lyrics are harder to get tired of, especially ambient or classical/instrumental stuff.
On the other hand, if I absolutely love an artist, I'll wear out their album. I think perhaps listening to an album in its entirety up to about 20 times gets me to the point of wanting to switch it up though. In general, I am pretty tolerant of music and rarely get annoyed, as long as it's my own music.
However, if I'm listening to a genre of music that I'm not too fond of (country rap, or bluegrass for example) I'll grow tired/irritated much quicker. So in short, if the genre grates on the nerves or is ridiculously repetitive, the quicker I grow annoyed.
Jam it back in, in the dark.
