Ok, a lot of people have been dissecting the
blogs and whatnot that have popped up around this film. Lots of morse code, sandscrit, things of that nature have popped up. Lovecraft does have some influence in at least the viral marketing of this film, though that doesn't mean this is going to be a film about Cthulhu (though things such as "Only 8-1-07 matters to our cause..." do point towards the case of a Cthulhu connection in some manner (the date being one of the Dates worked out by people with too much time on their hands as a very likely time that Cthulhu would awaken)). There is also talk of J.J. Abrams letting something slip about a seamonster, though if it was said, it was very quickly removed from the interview.
I got bored and read the comments from three of the posts at the
